Welcome to The Responsible Business Cookbook!
This podcast aims to foster an understanding of Responsible Business and its application in the real world.
You might say, "Wait a minute! What's this "Responsible Business” thing you're talking about?"
Well, Responsible Business is not a cost center, like many Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) or Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs. Instead, Responsible Business is a management philosophy practiced throughout an organization aligned with the firm’s purpose.
A responsible business purposely looks to solve some of the world's most critical problems while not creating any new problems along the way.
So, the Responsible Business I'm talking about aims to balance the pursuit of profit by acknowledging the true worth of environmental and social resources in value creation. A code of ethical behavior embodied in the firm's governance guides equitable value creation.
The tenets of Responsible Business management apply to any business, private or public, for-profit or not-for-profit, academic organizations, and even government.
Moreover, the path to Responsible Business may be taken out of volition - just because you want to – and thus doesn’t require permissions or regulations to implement, right now!
Responsible Business intends to play the game of capitalism using traditional and evolved strategies in a disciplined framework. The intention is to create capitalism anew through consideration for the common interests of humans while creating long-term value.
None of us can do it alone. Let the conversation begin!
