  • So, You’re Thinking About Starting a Podcast?

Have you ever thought about starting a podcast, but wondered whether it’s really for you?

Perhaps the technology seems complicated. Maybe you think podcasting is something younger people do. Or perhaps the biggest question is simply: what would I talk about?

In this first episode of The Retired Podcaster, I’m David. I’m 73, retired, and I’ve spent much of my life around radio, broadcasting and microphones.

We’ll talk about why retirement can actually be a rather good time to start a podcast, why you already have more stories and ideas than you might realise, and why you don’t need expensive equipment — or a “radio voice” — to begin.

For now, forget microphones, hosting, RSS feeds and download numbers.

Take out your phone, open the voice recorder and tell a story for five minutes.

    That’s enough.

    You’ve started.
