The Rewards of Volunteering

Krystal Zellmer is the marketing director, vice-president and co-owner of Klemmer and Associates. She is dedicated to fulfilling Klemmer's message of self improvement and growth. Klemmer has been giving Project Mercy volunteer support and backing for our house building program since 2003.

Krystal is also an author, her latest book is called, Life by Intention. In our interview she explains the path on which she leads the reader to personal revelation. We are indeed privileged to talk with her in this, the last podcast, of our seven episode series.

Dave Mason talks about his experiences as a volunteer, being Chairman of the Board and his visions for expanding house building in Mexico.

In this weeks episode we meet key members of the annual Baja Challenge, a house building event held jointly with Project Mercy in the poorest of neighborhoods in Tijuana, Mexico.

Devin Beale has been an active member of the San Diego chapter of the Commercial Real Estate Development Association for the past 16 years. For much of that time he has led the Baja Challenge Organization that is dedicated to constructing homes for destitute families in Mexico. Devin has been an active member since 2001, helping construct over 300 homes for families in need. Devin is also a board member of Project Mercy Baja.

You will also meet fellow volunteer Matt Brady, Executive Vice-President of Ware Malcomb Architects and Jinah Kim, Principal & Executive Producer for WordWide Productions LLC. Jinah is also a news reporter for NBC and has covered several Baja Challenge events. Jinah is a past board member of Project Mercy.

International Relief Teams (IRT) IRT helps families survive and recover after a disaster by providing timely and effective assistance. IRT also provides a hopeful future for underserved communities through programs that improve their health and wellbeing. During disasters, IRT deploys medical and reconstruction teams, provides supplies, and finances the restoration of infrastructure. IRT builds healthy communities through medical training programs; medical missions to low-income countries, including surgical and eyeglass teams; shipments of medicines to rural hospitals and clinics; and health, nutrition and education support for vulnerable populations. Since 1988, IRT has deployed more than 7,500 volunteers and provided $540 million in food, medicines, relief supplies, and volunteer services to families in need in 70 countries worldwide.
