They said I would embarrass them. 

I released it and it became a best-seller.

It's taken time and consistency.

Everyone is always looking to "set the standard, raise the bar, and change the game." 

First, you have to know the rules to the game. 

When the first person slammed dunked a basketball, everyone realized it was possible. 

That's raising the bar. 

The 4-minute mile came along the same way. 

Before that, people only ran 5-minute miles. 

Those who find the bar end up raising it. 

In order to do this, you have to understand what the bar is so you can raise it. 

You have to become a master of the game. 

Identify. 

Calculate. 

Plan. 

Execute. 

That's how you raise the bar or the standard. 

This applies in every single area of your life. 

Business. 

Friendships. 

Relationships. 

You've got to know where the bar is before you can raise it. 

Come up with a plan. 

Execute it. 

And start setting the new bar!

You gotta learn how to work the system instead of being a part of the system.

I'm a member of the Cowboy Club, owned by Jerry Jones owner of the Dallas Cowboys.  

It's great.  

It's an exclusive club where you can't take pictures, and it's very private. 

But being the owner of the Dallas Cowboys and the Cowboys Club is not the only way Jerry Jones makes all his money.

So as you can see, there's a way to work the system, not just be a part of it. 

Think about what you do and now, think about how you can work outside of what you do to be a person who works it instead of being in it.

Stop finding excuses to procrastinate. 

I was in the gym the other day, but I was not looking forward to the workout. 

But I know the workout was going to be effective for me if I would've just gotten it over with. 

I took longer to get it in than the 35 minutes required for it. 

When you do the work first, it makes it easy to enjoy the rest of your life. 

You've gotta do the work first at the highest intensity up front so you can enjoy it. 

If you've got an hour to do something, knock it out in 40 minutes. 

If you've got a week to do something, get it done in 3 days. 

The task at hand doesn't require you to "think" about it. 

Imperfect action is required. 

You have to act your way into a feeling because you'll never feel your way into an action. 

Stop procrastinating. 

Get to work. 

Do the hard stuff first. 

And then enjoy the extra "time" you've created for yourself.

Life will require you to pay a maintenance fee. 

Your bank charges you a maintenance fee to manage the digital software, the withdraws, transferring funds and everything under the sun. 

Life works a lot like this. 

The maintenance fee required in life is putting time into the gym to have a great body. 

If you want to be wealthy, you have to pay the maintenance fee of working your ass off in the business. 

If you want to grow your marriage, you have to invest time with your spouse. 

If you want to have a happy family life, you have to spend time with your children. 

Most people in life will not put in the time. 

They choose the easy route.

Too many people are trying to skip the maintenance fee due to scarcity. 

Life has a maintenance fee that should be looked at as an investment, not a loss.

Living a good life takes faith and focus.

Respect truly is a long-forgotten art. 

When I was raised, I said, "Yes sir, No, Ma'am," I held the door and say, "Please." 

I still do this today. 

When I travel to other states, I realize, not everyone sees respect as an art. 

They sure as hell don't use their manners back. 

Some of them even think they're better than you because you show them respect. 

Respect doesn't mean we have to like and trust each other. 

We don't have to agree with one another, but respect just shows I understand. 

Respecting someone who has put in the work to be successful shows appreciation. 

To have respect for someone who has become a great spouse, parent, or personally developed and evolved human being. 

It's a sign of honoring someone and acknowledging them. 

You don't have to like them. 

You don't have to trust them. 

But you can use respect to let them know you are strong and confident without allowing insecurities to tear them down or bring animosity to the relationship. 

When you're disrespectful, you might get the shit slapped out of you or get your ass kicked. 

It's time to bring back respect. 

Use your manners. 

Manners make the man. 

And great manners make the world a better place. 

It all starts with respect.

There are consequences and repercussions for free thinking these days. 

Look at Nike. 

They used Colin Capernick as a puppet for their mission of dishonoring the flag. 

That move cost them over $790 million dollars. 

These days, you have to think before you speak. 

Think of the ramifications in your professional and personal life. 

I made a post about Donald J. Trump one time and it wasn't even anything political. 

Whatever I said triggered a "Karen" and she took to the socials dropping comments on my company page, and my employees' pages, started DMing everyone and pretty much forced us to report and block her. 

It's unfortunate, but free speech is no longer free. 

Mind your P's and your Q's buy say what you mean and do what you do....

Just make sure you know who is in the room.

If people don't align, put them out of your mind. 

When I started hanging out with drug addicts, I did drugs. 

When I started hanging out with drug dealers, I became a drug dealer. 

When I started going to jail, I spoke like a convict. 

You have to be careful who you align with. 

I want to align with people who are generous, caring, and ethical people. 

I want to hang out with people who are dedicated to being good parents.

They take care of their health and honor their word. 

You can hang out with people at church or seminars and become like them. 

The same goes for those who are hanging out in bars, clubs, and other places they don't belong. 

You are who you hang with.  

If someone doesn't align, I don't give them my time.

If someone doesn't align, I send them to the back of the line. 

You should do the same!
