This past weekend, I woke up and decided to spend Saturday and Sunday walking downtown (Philly) to capture not only what I saw, but what I heard. As I was walking, I started to notice something I didn’t expect. I noticed all the sounds merging. The cars zooming past, all the people talking at once, the sounds of forks hitting plates, kids laughing, a man playing a horn on the sidewalk for change. All of those sounds were a kind of therapy for me, and I wanted to share those moments with you, too.
I did a quick Google search and found an article about the relationship between urban soundscapes and human well-being. Researchers looked at how the sounds around us affect our experiences, health, and interactions with others. It made me think about my own experience walking downtown and the connection between what I heard and what I saw. It also made me think differently about photography altogether. I’ve been paying attention to what catches my eye, but what about what I hear?
That’s the direction I’m exploring with my photography. I’m capturing ordinary moments while sharing the sounds that come with them. I want people to take a moment to listen to the world around them, even in all the chaos and noise. Sometimes, we don’t have to go looking for something extraordinary. There are moments happening all around us if we slow down long enough to listen and appreciate them.
So, the next time you’re out walking, at a restaurant, or waiting for a train, pay attention to what you hear. You might find something in the moment that totally changes how you feel and see the world around you.

If you know me personally, you know I’ve been the quiet one all of my life. Behind the scenes, but lately, I’ve dared to open up more and share my poetry.
I performed my first open mic session one night, and it created something in me to do more. This video is from last Wednesday when I decided to share two of my poems with an audience of women who survived and are thriving after their abusive relationships. The sponsoring organization for the event is called Women in Transition, and they are right here in Philly doing the groundwork, supporting and empowering people to live freely from domestic violence and substance abuse. I encourage you to browse their website, take part in what they are offering, and if you can, donate to their cause.
Poetry and writing have been a vehicle for me to express my life. Only now have I dared to share it with the world on a larger scale. I believe we all have a story inside us. We have these lived experiences that are unique to ourselves, but also have the power to inspire others to see themselves differently. I have spent much of my life silent, but at this stage of who and where I am, silence is no longer a luxury I can afford. Standing in front of an audience and sharing my work is an entirely different experience than sitting down and writing in seclusion. Once my words leave me, they belong to the moment, to the people listening, and to whatever they bring with them into the room.
I’m grateful that Women in Transition created a welcoming space for me and other poets to share our work and invited the community to take part in it. I met some beautiful people. People from all walks of life, and I’m eternally grateful for their presence, kindness, and willingness to pay attention to my words. I hope that through my life and work, someone else sees what’s possible for theirs, and that I inspire at least one person to use their talent for good.

My recent health screenings made me think about how important it is for us women to stay on top of our health, especially as we get older. It also made me think about all the women who don’t have support, insurance, access, or a means to even get to their appointments.
In this week’s episode of The Rhythm of His Love podcast, I’m discussing the importance of our health, both mental and physical, and why I’m focusing more on them now at this stage of my life.

The Rhythm of His Love
Life is full of rejection. There’s no getting around it, but as women, I feel like the sting of rejection hurts us more deeply than men, or at least we internalize it differently than them.
Rejection doesn’t get to define us, and I hope after listening to this podcast, if you’ve been rejected from something, you realize it’s okay to feel all the emotions that come with it and learn ways to manage rejection without allowing it to break you down and make you feel less than the woman that you truly are.

This is a question I ask myself constantly, and I wonder if I’m alone in this. Trusting my inner voice to guide and lead my decisions. To use discernment and trust when my gut and my voice are right. As women, I wonder how many times we second-guess ourselves throughout our lives, even when something inside us already knows the answer.
In this episode I’m briefly talking about what it means to trust that voice, listen to our intuition, and give ourselves permission to believe in what we already know.

Hey ladies,
This episode touches on something I’ve always struggled with, and honestly still do.
I know I’m not alone in this, but saying it out loud to you feels like a weight lifted off my shoulders. I briefly researched what perfectionism is, and Psychology Today says, “They tend to procrastinate a project out of their fear of failure. They shrug off compliments and forget to celebrate their success. Instead, they look to specific people in their lives for approval and validation.”
Wow! That definition blew my mind. I know there are healthy forms of perfectionism, as the article goes on to say, but I believe there’s a very thin line between what’s healthy perfectionism and what’s toxic.
I pray this episode resonates with you, and if this isn’t something you struggle with, feel free to share this episode with another woman who may benefit from it.

This episode is another part of my story.
I believe that to connect with my community, I have to have these honest conversations, for myself, and then for you.
Therapy requires us to put in work, as uncomfortable as it may be; it’s the only way we can start healing, and not that healing is a destination, rather it’s a lifelong journey.
I pray this episode helps you and shifts how you see yourself as someone who deserves to be listened to, helped, and taken care of.

Ladies, when was the last time you did something just for you?
In today’s episode, I’m sharing parts of my story and the importance of making time and space for ourselves as mothers, wives, workers, students, etc.
We spend so much of our lives taking care of everyone and everything else, without ever really pausing to do what’s fulfilling to us. I pray you enjoy this podcast and you walk away from it today with the permission to finally do the thing that fills you up because tomorrow isn’t promised, and today is all we have!

In my first episode, I’m introducing myself, sharing what I do, who I am, who I create for, and what you can expect from this podcast.
We’ll talk about us as women, midlife, finding your voice, growth, and becoming more intentional about the lives we’re creating.
I pray this podcast is of benefit to you, and if it is, please share it with other women, too.

Grief ebbs and flows. It bends to its own will, softening and sharpening its grip, demanding to be felt and known.
It hides in the ordinary—the scent of what’s familiar, the echo of a voice, or a physical feature or presence. It sneaks into laughter, into moments that should feel light but carry the weight of absence. Grief reshapes itself in memories, reminding you that love does not shrink but expands over time.
And through the change of seasons, you learn to live alongside it. You somehow grow around it, finding ways to hold both sorrow and joy in the same breath. It threads itself through days, not to disrupt or haunt you, but to remind you that love never fades but reverberates through time and space.
