Robert J. Sciglimpaglia, Jr. is an award winning actor, producer, best selling author, and attorney in the fields of entertainment, copyright/trademark, personal injury, and real estate law.

 

After 15 years as a successful Certified Worker’s Compensation Specialist and attorney in areas of personal injury, real estate and entertainment/copyright law/trademark law, while flipping through an Adult Education magazine, Robert stumbled across an advertisement for a voice-over acting course. Having always been intrigued by acting, and driven by curiosity, Robert decided to enroll in the course. At this time, websites advertising voice-acting gigs were just beginning to pop-up so voice artists could easily audition and do voice over jobs from home, and Robert found it easy to find work.

 

He landed his first voice-over gig working with PBS, in "American Experience: Hijacked!". He quickly began to be offered more work and was afforded the opportunity to work with some of Hollywood's biggest companies and stars, such as "Music and Lyrics", his first film, and Disney's "Enchanted". In 2012, he starred in the Super Bowl's viral Chevy commercial, "Happy Grad" which has been featured every year since on CBS's "Super Bowl's Greatest Commercials." The same year, after receiving questions from other aspiring voice over actors all over the world, he decided to combine his law background and voice-acting experience and wrote his first book, "Voice Over Legal". The book covers all the legal aspects of becoming a voice-actor, from starting a business and establishing an LLC, to the proper contracts required to work as a voice actor. It also covers some of the basics of the business like agents and Performance Unions, such as SAG-AFTRA. Just two years later, his book was the #1 best-seller in Amazon's entertainment law category.

 

Today, Robert has a production company, Belair Productions, that has three short films that have brought home a combined 75 awards (and counting), which are running the festival circuit and are available for streaming on Amazon Prime and other platforms. Nick's experience in playing and recording music goes back to his freshman year in high school, where he played in a popular band that had a single on college radio. This led to his first major industry gig with Mac Gayden (co-wrote iconic hit "Everlasting Love") while still in high school. Within a few months of being out on the road, Nick moved to Boston where he attended the Berklee College of Music and got to see what real playing was all about. With his ego immediately put in check and his head full of new musical ideas , he got the gig with Col. Bruce Hampton and the Codetalkers, which was a band he had loved to play along to in high school. During this time, Nick got to play with so many of the amazing musicians he had only heard in his headphones such as Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi, Bob Wier, and the late great Richie Hayward (from Little Feat) who joined Nick multiple times for some unforgettable double drumset gigs.  Upon moving back to Nashville in 2002, Nick picked up right where he left off, when he was asked to play with Cyndi Thompson, starting another new chapter in his career. It was the first of many tours that would follow with such diverse artists as Edwin McCain, Hank Williams Jr., Jedd Hughes, Maia Sharp, Emily West, and many others. Playing with these various artists has led to performing at so many great iconic venues such as the Grand Ole Opry along with TV appearances on many of the late night and daytime talk shows. It also led to a whole new side of Nick's career as a session drummer.  Nick's unique drumming style combines his delicate touch with a soulful r&b backbeat and an explosive energy, which adds depth and excitement to his tracks. He's never afraid to take chances with music, which sets him apart as a player. His unmistakeable style infiltrates both live and studio settings putting him in high demand amongst the Music Row elite.  His playing is featured on country/pop sensation Taylor Swift's first 5 multi-platinum albums. Drummer Jack Bruno grew up in a family of professional and amateur musicians, and recalls a childhood of “records playing all the time. Singing, accordions, food, wine…” He began playing drums in his uncle’s band, and later took any and all gigs that came his way, “from bah mitzvahs to strip joints.” By the age of 17, Jack and some Boston friends had formed the Applepie Motherhood Band (part of the psychedelic “Boss-town” sound that record companies were trying to push at the time), which released two albums in the late 1960s.

By 1981, Jack had begun playing and recording with Tina Turner, and met Elton’s band when the two acts were in Brunei for the 21st birthday of the prince’s daughter. He had also played in an LA band with Guy Babylon and knew Bob Birch from the session circuit.

So when Davey Johnstone called and asked Jack to play on the final leg of The Big Picture tour, Jack jumped at the chance.

After a bit of a trial by fire on the first show in Austin, Texas, Jack enjoyed himself on the rest of the tour. “Being able to play these songs, especially the older ones I grew up with, with the man that wrote and played them, was amazing every night. It was as good as it gets for a player.” He also added that, “The respect and treatment from Elton and the whole organization was top class.” Jack had the distinction of playing drums for both Tina Turner and Elton during a couple of shows in 1999: the VH-1 Divas Live concert in April and then their two separate Millennium concerts in Las Vegas on December 30 and 31.

Just after doing The Big Picture tour, Jack got to work with Delbert McClinton for a year, and then did Tina Turner’s tour in 2001. He has also played with acts like Richard Marx and Peter Frampton. Currently Jack lives in Nashville, Tennessee and recently has been out on the road with Joe Cocker, with whom he has played off and on since the 1990s, and backed Tina Turner once again for her 50th Anniversary Tour in 2008-09.

Jim McCarthy is the quintessential Blue Collar Voice Guy. Honing his craft since 1996 with radio stations in Illinois, South Carolina, Connecticut, New York, Las Vegas and Nashville, Jim has voiced well over 10,000 pieces since and garnered an ear for audio production which he now uses for various podcasts, commercials and promos. Jim is also an accomplished video producer, content creator, writer and overall entrepreneur.

Mike Dawson is a New Jersey–based drummer, educator, and clinician. He currently hosts "The Drum Candy" podcast and is copy editor for www.drumfactorydirect.com.  Mike was formerly managing editor for Modern Drummer, the world’s most widely read magazine exclusively for drummers. Dawson also produced and co-hosted  The Modern Drummer Podcast With Mike and Mike, along with renowned online educator/clinician Mike Johnston.

Additionally, Dawson served as book editor for Modern Drummer Publications, with most recent releases including Progressive Drumming Essentials by drummer/educator Aaron Edgar, Rhythm and Chops Builders and Stick Technique by rudimental specialist Bill Bachman, and Exercises in African-American Funk by top touring drummer Jonathan Joseph and University of Miami faculty member Steve Rucker. In the pages of MD, Michael has authored dozens of artist features, educational columns, and product reviews.

Dawson has a bachelor’s degree in music education from West Virginia University and a master’s degree in music from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He’s a senior lecturer in music journalism and drum set at the UArts, and he operates a recording studio out of his home in New Jersey, where he tracks drums and percussion remotely for artists around the globe. Michael recently began subbing for the drumset chair in the hit Broadway musical The Lion King.

Drummer, singer, and songwriter Jerry Gaskill founded the progressive metal band King's X in 1983. A native of Bridgeton, New Jersey, Gaskill began playing at a young age, forming a band with his father and brother and playing his first gig at the age of seven. After playing in bands throughout high school, he became heavily involved in the Christian faith and enrolled at Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri. Not long after arriving in Springfield, he befriended bassist Doug Pinnick and the two formed a sturdy rhythm section, backing up artists like future Petra singer Greg X. Volz and guitarist Phil Keaggy.

After trying out various combos of their own, Gaskill and Pinnick were joined by guitarist Ty Tabor and the trio, then called Sneak Preview, relocated to Houston, Texas. Changing their name to King's X in 1987, they eventually signed with metal label Megaforce and released their debut, Out of the Silent Planet, a year later. A prog trio with a strong melodic bent and elaborate three-part harmonies, King's X have enjoyed a successful career with stints on Atlantic, Metal Blade, and InsideOut Music. Gaskill's contributions as drummer, writer, and occasional lead singer are an integral part of King's X's sound.

In 2004, he released his solo debut, Come Somewhere, which was recorded and produced by bandmate Ty Tabor. In addition to his work with King's X, Gaskill has contributed to side projects by his two bandmates as well as albums by blues guitarist Jay Hooks and New Jersey songwriter Bob Burger. After suffering a heart attack in early 2012, Gaskill's home was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy later that same year. Waylaid by a second heart attack in 2014, he rallied to release his second solo LP,
