3:05pm- On Thursday, Santa Fe District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies announced that Alec Baldwin and armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed have both been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the shooting death of Halyna Hutchins on the set of the film “Rust.”
3:15pm- In December 2021 Alec Baldwin emphatically told George Stephanopoulos that he did not pull the trigger of the gun that killed Halyna Hutchins. According to Fox News Digital, Baldwin’s attorneys called the charges a “terrible miscarriage of justice.” Speaking with CNN’s Josh Campbell, Santa Fe District Attorney Mary Carmack-Alwies explained her decision to charge Baldwin and Hannah Gutierrez-Reed.
3:35pm- Liz Wolfe—Associate Editor of Reason—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss a recent opinion editorial featured in the New York Times, “China Helped Raise My American Kids, and They Turned Out Fine.” In the editorial, Heather Kaye argues that communist rule in China is actually GOOD for parenting—citing educational assistance from the state via internet censorship and supposedly lower crime rates due to totalitarian governance. 3:50pm- While speaking with Bill O’Reilly on News Nation, Chris Cuomo actually referred to himself as “the lesser Cuomo.”
4:05pm- REPLAY: Eli Lake—Contributing Editor at Commentary Magazine & Host of The Reeducation Podcast—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss his latest article, “American Nomenklatura.” In the piece, Lake writes of social media’s content moderators and the role they play according to revelations in the “Twitter File” releases: “In just a few short years, this nomenklatura has come to constitute an implicit ruling class on the Internet, one that collectively determines what information and news sources the rest of us should see on major platforms. Talk about ‘free speech’ and ‘the First Amendment’ may actually be beside the point here. 4:25pm- According to a Fox News report, the Secret Service possesses a list of visitors to President Joe Biden’s Delaware homes. Interestingly, during a press briefing on January 12th, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre refused to answer any question about the existence of a “visitors log” for Biden’s Wilmington home where classified documents were found.
4:40pm- While appearing on Fox News with Tucker Carlson, Governor Ron DeSantis vowed to stifle the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) recent attempts to purchase land in Florida—specifically land near military bases. DeSantis called the attempted purchases a “threat to the country” and accused other politicians of empowering the CCP.
4:45pm- The University of Pennsylvania has denied any link between Chinese donations and the Penn Biden Center. The school has been accused of using its relationship with President Joe Biden to attract large sums of foreign money. On November 2nd, 2022 misplaced classified documents were found in Biden’s UPenn office in Washington D.C.
4:55pm- On Wednesday, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced her resignation—which will be effective February 7th.
5:00pm- John Lott Jr.—Contributor for The Federalist & President of the Crime Prevention Research Center—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss his latest article, “How Hollywood Uses TV Shows to Lie About Good Guys with Guns.” Lott also weighs-in on the announcement that Alec Baldwin will be charged in the shooting death of Halyna Hutchins on the set of the film “Rust.”
5:20pm- New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy was asked which team he would support in Saturday’s NFL playoff game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Giants. Unsurprisingly, Murphy refused to answer.
5:50pm- Mystery Movie Clip: Matt complains it’s his least favorite part of the show, alleging that every winner inevitably has a long, complex email address filled with random numbers and letters—making it impossible to write down. Rich offers no sympathy.
6:05pm- The annual World Economic Forum conference is currently taking place in Davos, Switzerland. Investigative journalist Michael Shellenberger points out that although conference attendees claim to be promoting environmentalism, many of them arrived in fossil fuel guzzling private jets.
6:25pm- Even NPR is criticizing President Joe Biden for his reckless handling of classified documents.

6:45pm- In a new piece at Reason, Robby Soave documents the federal government's coordination with Facebook over the censorship of information regarding COVID-19 and the vaccine. Soave writes: “the U.S. public's understanding of COVID-19—its virality, how to prevent its spread, and even where it comes from—was largely controlled by Fauci and bureaucrats like him, to a greater degree than most people realize.
