3:05pm – According to a report from CNBC, just prior to widespread anti-government protests Apple limited its iPhone’s AirDrop function in China—restricting the communication methods of protestors taking a stand against totalitarian COVID-19 lockdown procedures that have resulted in numerous deaths. CNBC writes that AirDrop, “relies on wireless connections between phones, rather than internet connectivity, placing it beyond the scope of [China’s] internet content moderators.”

3:15pm- In recently unearthed audio, Apple CEO Tim Cook praised China’s government—particularly their environmental policies. Though, it is worth noting, China is currently the world’s largest emitter of carbon, accounting for over 30% of global emissions. Meanwhile, according to Elon Musk, Apple has threatened to remove Twitter from its App Store. If Apple continues to support suppressive governments and acts hostile towards free speech, will consumers abandon the company?

3:30pm- On Tuesday, Fox News reporter Peter Doocy asked White House press secretary Karine Jean Pierre if the Biden Administration would consider attempting to shut down Twitter over its content. Notably, Jean-Pierre did not directly answer the question.

4:55pm- Bloomberg journalist Bobby Ghosh warned that Iranian soccer players who refused to sing their nation’s national anthem at the 2022 World Cup could potentially be in danger when they return home. According to Ghosh, their families have already been threatened by Ali Khamenei’s authoritarian government. 

5:00pm- A woman is suing Kraft Heinz Foods Company for deceptive advertising—claiming Velveeta macaroni and cheese takes longer to make than the three and a half minutes advertised on the products packaging. The lawsuit is for $5 million.

How will the Biden’s Administration determine which reforms are worthy of regulation? What will constitute the promotion of misinformation? Will the federal government ultimately target the dissemination of information that deviates from their preferred narratives?

3:25pm- Elon Musk explained his decision for firing a large number of Twitter employees after purchasing the company—claiming he saw people just sitting around in the office doing nothing!

3:30pm- House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) condemned the White House’s vow to monitor Elon Musk and Twitter, stating: “Government's going to go after someone who wants to have free speech?...Do they want to go more after American public about whether they can have an opinion on something?...I think they should stop picking on Elon Musk.”

Dr. Fauci conceded that the origins of COVID-19 have not been definitively proven but emphasized that it was “molecularly impossible” for the NIH funded virus research to turn into SARS-CoV-2. Is Dr. Fauci at least now acknowledging the NIH funded gain-of-function research in Wuhan? 

4:35pm- Two-term Philadelphia City Councilmember Helen Gym has resigned from her position and is now expected to announce a run for Philadelphia Mayor.
