3:05pm- While visiting Portland, Oregon over the weekend, President Joe Biden answered questions about the American economy and the strength of the U.S. dollar. Biden declared, “our economy is strong as hell…inflation is worldwide”—while he consumed an ice cream cone.
3:25pm- According to a report from The Daily Beast, a new, fast-spreading variant of COVID-19 known as “XBB” has been identified in Singapore. “XBB” is a highly mutated version of Omicron.
3:35pm- Will unmitigated violent crime in America’s biggest, bluest cities ultimately swing the 2022 midterm elections to Republicans? According to a new Harvard-Harris poll, 64% of Americans believe “the increase in crime is the fault of woke politicians.”
3:40pm- Roman Jankowski—Senior Investigative Counsel for the Oversight Project at The Heritage Foundation—joins the show to discuss a lawsuit Heritage recently filed against the Department of Justice (DOJ) for failing to adhere to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request regarding “documents and communications regarding the recent intimidatory protests carried out by radical abortion supporters outside the homes of Supreme Court justices in the wake of the leaked Dobbs draft decision.” Jankowski reveals that despite being months removed from the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision, protestors are still camped outside the homes of several conservative Justices.
4:05pm- Is an army of robots coming to replace workers? A recent Wall Street Journal piece warns a new wave of robots “are spreading at a record pace, from their traditional strongholds like making automobiles into nearly every other human endeavor.” What will the economic impact be? And as artificial intelligence advances, could it be adopted by authoritarian regimes for nefarious purposes?
4:35pm- According to the New York Post, the Biden Administration pressed Saudi Arabia to postpone its reduction in oil production until after the midterms. As Molly Hemmingway points out, “by Democrat standards” this is an impeachable offense—referring to Democrats in the House of Representatives voting to impeach former President Donald Trump for a similar conversation he had with Ukrainian leadership.
4:50pm- What’s the best fast-food burger in America? According to a Los Angeles Times ranking, the title belongs to Fatburger.
5:05pm- There is a controversial proposal being considered by the New Jersey state legislature which would require licensed gun owners to buy liability insurance. What’s the likelihood this proposal could become law?
5:20pm- Burger Bun Debate: Is the brioche bun the best bun for hamburgers? Or is it a bun for elitists?
5:40pm- Sheri Few—President and Founder of United States Parents Involved in Education (USPIE)—joins the show to discuss USPIE’s new documentary, “Truth & Lies in American Education.” The film, as well as the organization, encourages the empowerment of parents and guardians in our country’s education system.
5:55pm- According to the Daily Mail, researchers at Boston University have engineered a new variant of COVID-19 with an 80% lethality rate. Though the variant is obviously contained within a laboratory, should researchers even be conducting these types of dangerous experiments?
6:05pm- While appearing on ABC’s This Week, Dr. Anthony Fauci refused to accept any responsibility for nationwide school closures during the COVID-19 pandemic. He also stated that, upon retirement, he hoped the American public remembered him as “someone who gave everything they had for the health” of the nation.
6:25pm- Manny Fidel of MSNBC argued that by questioning the status of John Fetterman’s health, members of the Republican party are “othering” disabled Americans. Tom Bevan, of RealClearPolitics, believes that transparency regarding Fetterman’s health is not a partisan issue right now.
6:40pm- While appearing on Meet the Press’ guest panel, Republican strategist Matt Gorman argued that abortion is not a top four concern of likely voters, according to polling. Fellow panelists Yamiche Alcindor and Claire McCaskill quickly objected—but are they correct?
