God used Phillip to share the Gospel message. He used him to be an influence in someone’s life. We all have an opportunity to share the Gospel with those around us. God has called us to go and make disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Foundations matter. If a building's foundation is not solid, the entire structure may collapse. For Christians, the Bible has always served as a foundation for our faith. In recent years, though, the authority of Scripture has been called into question. Can we trust the Bible is really the Word of God? Can we know this ancient book is still relevant and applicable to our lives?

If God can use a person with a past like Paul’s, then He could definitely still use me, right? Jesus didn’t die for a certain type of sin, nor did He give His life for a limited amount of sin. The truth is, Jesus died for my sins, just the same as He died for Paul… Just as He did for you.

"Then we will no longer be little children, tossed by the waves and blown around by every wind of teaching, by human cunning with cleverness in the techniques of deceit. But speaking the truth in love, let us grow in every way into Him who is the head — Christ." – Ephesians 4:14-15

Pastor Tim reminded us that we will encounter people with all sorts of ideas that aren't true, but if we are properly connected with the church, God's leaders, and God's people, we will not be easily misled by their teachings.

Sometimes, people don’t look to the Bible for guidance because they don’t want to change the way they are living. They are happy with their lives and don’t feel that they need God to guide them, since they think are doing well on their own.

Pastor Tim kicked off our “Immovable” series on Sunday with a powerful message reminding us that we can have confidence that the Bible is the Word of God. The word "inspired" written in 2 Timothy 3:16 literally translates to "God-breathed" – how awesome is it that the Word of God is literally breathed by God!

Growing up, I wouldn’t have thought there were any obstacles to being a good neighbor — mine made it look so easy. But I’ve come to realize, as an adult, that being a good neighbor takes intention.

It’s not easy to be a good neighbor to a difficult neighbor, but that's what God calls us to do in Luke 10:27. Regardless of our obstacles or challenges, God has placed us in our neighborhood for a reason and calls us to be good neighbors.

Obstacles and excuses can tend to keep us from taking steps to impact our actual neighbors for Christ. Pastor Josh Rhodes concluded The Art of Neighboring with a talk encouraging us to ask God to help us overcome whatever is standing in the way of neighboring well—what God has called us to, He will equip us for.

"Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep. Be in agreement with one another. Do not be proud; instead, associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own estimation. Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Try to do what is honorable in everyone’s eyes. If possible, on your part, live at peace with everyone." – Romans 12:14-18
