Last week we saw Moses beholding the presence of God. He had this moment of intimacy with God at the burning bush. But his moment of intimacy with God did not end at a bush. The intimacy he found led to an invitation to follow YAHWEH in leading Israel out of Egypt. We pick up the story today with Moses having led the people who would become known as the nation of Israel in a different place. They have left Egypt and find themselves in the wilderness.
