What's poppin park people?!
We are back with another JUICY session for your enjoyment. In the top of the episode we talk about the documentary "The Alpinist" (SPOILER WARNING) and how wild of a film it is. We were jazzed on this doc and it lead us to research some other mountaineers and first ascents of large mountains.
1:10- 9:02
We begin by dissecting "The Alpinist" and talking about how wild Marc-André Leclerc is in the film. It is absolutely jaw dropping to see what is possible in the realm of mixed climbing and free soloing. Marc-André is a certified climber chad and we had to geek out over him.
9:02-14:43
To put into perspective how fragile life is we talk about some incredibly unlucky and plain dumb deaths throughout history. People have died for some pretty ridiculous reasons and in this list we comment on some wild ones. Fair warning to all of you, stay away from swans.
14:43-19:42
In this segment we talk about some of the first ascents of some large mountains. The first attempts at mountaineering were not for sport but actually for religious reasons. The first mountaineers would use some of the same techniques people use today but with primitive gear. We also find out how hard it is to pronounce French correctly so France, we are sorry.
19:42-30:24
Matt tells some tails of some other mountaineers who had wild stories of being on some of the worlds tallest peaks. The first story is on K2 when an expedition gone wrong leads a group of men in a very intense situation. The second story is about a snowboarder who wanted to be the first to snowboard down Mt Everest. Stick around to the end to find out if he makes it!
30:24-32:52
Summary, outro and penis jokes.
