Maybe everybody knows you as the strong one.
The one who figures it out.
The one people call when something goes wrong.
The one who gives, helps, fixes and carries.
But what happens when your capacity changes?
What happens when you’re tired, grieving, financially stretched, raising children, navigating a difficult season—or simply cannot carry what you used to carry?
In this episode, we’re talking about the hidden cost of extreme self-sufficiency and the difference between being capable and believing you should never need anybody.
For many strong women—especially first-born daughters—doing everything yourself may have once felt safe. But over time, that same independence can make it difficult to ask for help, receive support, communicate changing capacity or allow other people to truly know you.

For generations, women have been intentionally taught how to become wives—how to support their husbands, build a home, communicate and prepare for marriage.
But have we shown the same intentionality in preparing men to become husbands? Being a man does not automatically mean someone knows how to communicate, take responsibility, remain emotionally present, or build a healthy marriage.
If we want stronger marriages, we must be as intentional about preparing men for husbandhood as we are about preparing women for wifehood.
This is not a conversation about attacking men; it is about creating more opportunities for mentorship, honest conversations and healthy examples of marriage.
That leaves us with an important question: Who is teaching the men?

Many marriages look fine from the outside while two people are slowly losing connection at home. So what is really happening—and are we building marriage the way God intended?
In this episode of Rise & Rebuild, I’m having an honest conversation about the patterns that can pull a marriage apart: unhealed wounds, unspoken expectations, unresolved conflict, comparison, and losing sight of companionship and shared purpose.
We also talk about biblical leadership, the responsibilities of husbands and wives, and why fighting for a marriage must never become an excuse for abuse.
Whether you’re married or thinking about marriage, I hope this conversation helps you ask better questions about what you’re building.
What does a healthy marriage look and feel like inside the home? Share your thoughts in the comments, and follow Rise & Rebuild for more conversations about breaking cycles, healing, and rebuilding.

In this episode, I'm getting honest about oversharing, why we do it, how it quietly drowns out our own conviction, and what it cost me the day I decided to move to the United States without taking a poll first. If you've ever asked for advice when what you really wanted was permission, this one's for you.
Key Takeaways
Letting too many voices in drowns out my own conviction and confidence
Collecting too many opinions leads to confusion and delay, not clarity
Trusting God means not every decision needs external approval
Protecting my dreams by building them in private before I share them
Praying and sitting with a decision before talking about it brings real clarity
Choosing a few trusted people carefully instead of a whole committee

Life doesn't ask before it falls apart, and this episode is about what comes after.
I'm getting personal about the season I hit rock bottom, the cycles I had to break to find my real self, and the faith that carried me through when nothing made sense. If you're rebuilding right now, I hope this gives you something to hold onto.
Key Takeaways
- Rebuilding is often forced on you, it's rarely a choice.
- A clear why (kids, purpose, calling) keeps you moving when it's hard.
- Painful patterns are usually survival tactics, not who you really are.
- Rock bottom can become the starting point for real change.
- Healing takes time, but restoration is real.

This episode is the next step in the mother wound journey, and it is one of the most practical ones yet.
Because once you stop waiting for her to change and stop waiting for the apology, the real question becomes: now what? This week, we answer that.
Key Takeaways
The unmet needs from your childhood did not disappear, they followed you into every relationship you have ever had
Healing begins the moment you stop pretending those needs were never there
Grieving the relationship you wished you had with your mother is not weakness, it is the most honest thing you can do for yourself
Your relationship with your mother shaped your attachment style, and understanding that changes how you see your patterns
Reparenting yourself is not about replacing your mother, it is about finally becoming the safe space you always needed
Emotional independence does not mean you stop loving her, it means you stop depending on her for things she was never able to give
Rebuilding your identity after the mother wound is how you stop living from survival and start living from truth
You do not have to unlove your way to healing. You heal by learning to love yourself the way you always needed to be loved 🤍

This episode is for the woman who has been waiting, for her mother to acknowledge the pain, to apologize, to finally see her. This week I want to gently tell you something that might be the most freeing thing you hear all year.
Key Takeaways
Healing the mother wound is about you, not about getting your mother to finally understand
Waiting for her validation is not patience, it is an emotional prison you have the key to
Your pain was real, it is real, and it will always be valid, with or without her acknowledgment
Accepting your mother for who she is, not who you need her to be, is where freedom begins
You cannot change her. But you can change how you carry what she gave you
Closure is not something she can give you, it is something you choose for yourself
Remothering yourself is not a replacement, it is a restoration
The cycle ends with you. And that is not a burden, it is a calling.
