Psalm 37 reminds us not to fret when the wicked seem to prosper, for their success is fleeting but the Lord sustains the righteous. The meek, those who patiently trust in God rather than forcing their own way, will inherit lasting peace. Our confidence rests not in circumstances but in the Lord, who is our stronghold, provider, and deliverer.

In Bethany, Jesus meets Martha’s grief with a breathtaking claim: “I am the resurrection and the life.” He proves it by calling Lazarus out of the tomb, showing that resurrection is not just a future hope but a present reality found in Him. This story challenges us to trust Jesus personally, live as people already alive in Christ, and step out of the tombs that still bind us.

In 1 Corinthians 15:20–26 Paul proclaims that Christ’s resurrection is the firstfruits of those who have died, guaranteeing that all who belong to Him will also be raised. Just as death came through Adam, life comes through Christ, who will reign until every enemy—including death itself—is defeated. The passage climaxes with the promise that the last enemy to be destroyed is death, assuring believers of ultimate victory and eternal life in Christ.

Through Adam’s disobedience, sin and death entered the world, but through Christ’s obedience, grace and life overflow to all who believe. Paul shows that while death reigns universally, the gift of God in Jesus is “much more,” overturning Adam’s failure with justification and righteousness. In Christ, we move from condemnation to reigning in life by the abundance of God’s grace.

Hebrews 2:10–15 shows Jesus as the pioneer of our salvation, the one who shared fully in our humanity so that He could lead many sons and daughters to glory. Through His suffering and death, He destroyed the devil’s power over death and freed us from lifelong slavery to fear. In Christ, God’s family is made complete, and we find both courage and hope in the face of suffering and mortality.

Psalm 36 paints a vivid contrast between the corruption of sin and the abundance of God’s steadfast love. While the wicked flatter themselves and reject good, God’s love reaches to the heavens, His righteousness stands like mountains, and His light gives life. This psalm calls us to take refuge in Him, drink deeply from His river of delights, and trust that evil will not prevail.

In 2 Thessalonians 2:9–12, Paul warns that the “lawless one” will come with counterfeit signs and wonders empowered by Satan, deceiving those who reject the gospel. Those who refuse to love the truth will be given over to delusion, believing lies that lead to condemnation. The passage calls us to cling to the truth of Christ, for only in Him do we find salvation and protection from deception.

In John 8:39–47, Jesus challenges the Jews who claim Abraham as their father but reject Him. He makes clear that true children of Abraham do the works of Abraham—faith and obedience—not hatred and unbelief. By rejecting Jesus, they reveal that their real allegiance is not to God but to the devil, the father of lies.

Ephesians 6:10–12 reminds us that the Christian life is a battle not against flesh and blood but against the unseen powers of darkness. Paul urges believers to be strengthened in the Lord’s power, for we cannot stand firm in our own strength. This passage calls us to put on God’s armor daily, knowing that only in Christ can we resist the schemes of the devil and remain steadfast in faith.

Revelation 12:7–12 unveils a war in heaven where Michael defeats the dragon, and Satan—the ancient serpent and accuser—is cast down. A heavenly hymn explains the meaning: Christ’s death and resurrection inaugurate God’s kingdom, silencing the accuser, and believers conquer “by the blood of the Lamb” and the word of their testimony, loving not their lives even unto death. Heaven rejoices, but earth faces the dragon’s fury for a short time—an already/not-yet call to courageous, faithful witness.
