More than 300 prophecies are written in the Old Testament concerning the first coming of the Messiah. All of them were fulfilled by Jesus. Matthew quotes 5 of those prophecies in the first two chapters of his gospel pertaining to the birth of the Messiah and how Jesus fulfilled them. Why is it important to understand these prophecies?
