The Roar

In the first episode of The Roar AFL Podcast, Jay Croucher and Cam Rose discuss some of the important takeaways from an excellent round of Australian rules football. Jay offers his perspective on Collingwood's insipid display against Sydney, the pair double down on their North Melbourne predictions, and reassess - sort of - Carlton's prospects in 2016.

Before the guys get stuck in, Ryan Buckland gives his two minute take on Round One, centered on the two biggest changes that he saw across the League in its first nine games for the year.

The Roar AFL Podcast is available on iTunes, SoundCloud and theroar.com.au every Wednesday during the AFL season. The gang will get together once a week to hit on the biggest trends in the game, and many that escape the mainstream spotlight.

In the final episode of The Roar AFL Podcast Season Preview series, Jay Croucher and Ryan Buckland made a massive call, and put Hawthorn at the top of the AFL's pyramid for 2016. The guys run through the reasons why the Hawks are still the team to beat this season, discuss why this might be their last chance, and lament the lack of love for their coach Alastair Clarkson.

Jay and Ryan finish the series by revealing plans for The Roar AFL Podcast during the rest of the AFL season. Thanks for listening to the preview series, and we will be back very, very soon with more,

In the penultimate episode of The Roar AFL Podcast Season Preview, Jay and Ryan discuss West Coast's 2016 outlook. Was last season's ahead of schedule rise a one off? Will they make the Grand Final again after being humiliated by Hawthorn? Is their midfield really any good? And which two players are put under the microscope in the regular "it's a big year for..." segment? It can't be all that bad, given the team expect West Coast to finish second!

In this episode of The Roar AFL Podcast, Jay Croucher and Ryan Buckland discuss Fremantle's 2016 prospects. One host anoints the Fremantle "over" as his lock of the year, following the addition of one of the most prospective forward half players in the League. How will the Dockers cope with the loss of their defensive general? And does it matter, given Fremantle's biggest challenge lays on the offensive front.

The Roar AFL Podcast Season Preview series has hit the home stretch, with the top four podcasts kicking off at Kardinia Park. Jay Croucher and Ryan Buckland ask some probing questions of Geelong's list strategy, concluding that while they'll likely improve on their 2015 results, the team's call of a double chance might be too much, too soon given some of the queries over this team.

In this episode of The Roar AFL Podcast, Cam Rose and Jay Croucher guffaw at the consensus prediction of a top six finish for North Melbourne. Among other things, they ask who is the superstar of this team, ponder whether Lindsay Thomas should be suspended for staging, and question whether this team is nothing more than middle of the road.

Will they fall out of the eight all together? Or will they end up in the top two, as one host is predicting? And how culpable is John Longmire for his sides' inability to improve despite the addition of Kurt Tippett and Lance Franklin in recent years?

This episode, Cam Rose and Jay Croucher discuss GWS' expected run to the finals in 2016. Despite the team's prediction, some key questions remain: can a team that beat up on the bottom five continue to improve in the face of a tougher draw? Can the Giants' bevvy of high draft picks become more than "good" players? And why isn't Jeremy Cameron the best key forward in the game?
