Don't you love this verse of "How Firm a Foundation"? "When through fiery trials thy pathways shall lie / My grace all sufficient shall be thy supply / The flame shall not hurt thee; I only design / Thy dross to consume and thy gold to refine"
This verse comes from four different Bible passages, which we'll explore in their contexts in today's Podcast episode.
"When through the deep waters I call thee to go. The rivers of sorrow shall not overflow..." Do you know that verse from "How Firm a Foundation"? It comes from Isaiah 43, a precious promise which unfolds in five certainties, which we'll look at together in this episode.
Remember the line from How Firm a Foundation: "Fear not, I am with thee, oh be not dismayed, for I am thy God and will still give thee aid"? It comes right out of Isaiah 41:10, which is an incredible passage to study. In this episode Rob unfolds the context around this incredibly encouraging verse.

The inspiration for this stanza comes from Deuteronomy 33:6: "And your strength shall equal your days". Remember the verse of How Firm a Foundation that says: "What more can he say than to you he hath said, to you who for refuge to Jesus have fled"?
