Improv is a powerful tool and has benefits both professionally and personally.
Ralph Andracchio is a professional coach who uses applied improv techniques in concert with his coach training to give his clients tools that empower them to live more focused, mindful, confident lives. Too many of us live dual lives of professional success and personal fulfillment. Ralph wants us to live one authentic life filled with strength, confidence, happiness, and success.
The Power of ImprovImprov gave Ralph the strength to overcome self-doubt and, imposter syndrome and it gave him the strength to step into his power and his voice and say to himself that his point of view was valuable. Similarly, improv gave him permission to open up to other people.
The Thread of ImprovThe true thread through improv is helping other people realize what he realized, that you matter. You have a power inside of you that if you stop and take a breath and embrace and slow down and open yourself up there is a whole world of excitement out there. The key is to listen for it and be accepting of it.
CoachingThrough his research of what he could do with his background of improv he found coaching, which is what lead him to his business.
Improv and the Power of ListeningListening is about listening to others and ourselves. It’s about holding the space to really truly deeply listen what is going on around you and what the other person is saying and feeling. Listening isn’t just waiting for your turn to speak. It’s listening to everything the person is saying, what they aren’t saying, the words they are using and the silence that happens and embracing the silence to settle into the moment.
Listening opens up to connections that we don’t realize are possible. It's about trusting others and ourselves.
True conversation and connection is having a reaction and opinion and wanting to connect on that, and have a conversation about it. Likewise, it’s important to be able to practice deep listening, being present and holding space and not getting so caught up in opinion.
Being intentional with our listening helps building emotional connections that lead to genuine relationships.
LeadershipWe are all leaders in our own right. The best leaders are those who listen. True leaders will ask what is needed and how they can support you. They listen to the responses and let go of their ego of thinking they have to be the most important person in the room.
There are so many opportunities to learn and leaders are eager to learn.
Life is about being open to letting others teach you something. We aren’t meant to know everything. Imposter syndrome makes us think we have to be an expert at everything, but we aren’t meant for that, we are meant to learn as we go along.
The Foundation of ImprovImprov is when two or more people get on a stage without a script and get some form of input from the audience. It is whatever happens, happens and you become hyper aware in the moment. Your senses are very aware. Paying attention to body language, what they way and what they don’t say.
Improv teaches you to live wholly and completely in the moment. To take in all of the information you can because everything means everything, and you take in all of the information to formulate a response.
Similarly, improv teaches us to trust ourselves and support each other and the team. The only way you can fail at improv if you negate what is happening and say no to the experience. You really can’t fail at improv.
People use improv to learn to roll with the punches and go with the flow. Life is improv. We don’t have any idea what’s going to happen when we get up in the morning.
Can an Anxious and Fearful Person Do Improv and How?Yes and is the main thing taught in improv. It is a philosophy of being open to everything that is happening. Accept the situation and reality and add your two cents. It’s about trusting yourself to say things. Turning down the volume on the fear of judgment is the key.
In other words, improv teaches us to let go of the fear and say what we believe is the right thing to say and believe in our partner to respond. Getting lost in the moment with your on-stage partner. It is like floating in a warm space and all of the negative thoughts float away.
StorytellingImprov is also about storytelling. Public speakers are great story tellers. Improv helps us tap into the storyteller in us.
Storytelling helps us engage and build relationships. It’s how we connect with each other.
Storytelling is also a great way to network. Ask others to tell their story. We aren’t defined by the work we do, so change the dialogue to asking others to share their story instead of asking what they do. This helps build relationships and trust.

Imposter syndrome, you’ve heard of it, right?
What is Imposter SyndromeThe root of imposter syndrome is self-doubt. Self-doubt leads to a compilation of beliefs of inadequacy, not being good enough.
People who suffer with imposter syndrome live with the belief that they are fraudulent, that they aren’t good enough, smart enough, talented enough and shouldn’t be doing what they are doing. That they aren’t worthy of being in the position they are in or doing what they are doing.
The overwhelming thoughts of intellectual fraudulence overrule achievement, success and recognition.
Or, we take on everything because we feel we have to prove ourselves by doing it all.
Both result in frustration.
If you are shaking your head because you’ve felt these feelings or believed you were a fraud you are not alone.
Imposter syndrome impacts even those who have achieved great success.
The Symptoms of Imposter SyndromeWhat are the symptoms of imposter syndrome? How can you start paying attention to prevent imposter syndrome from capitalizing your thoughts and potentially ruining your business and life?
What can you do once you recognize the symptoms of imposter syndrome and realize it has over-stepped its boundary and is negatively impacting your day to day abilities to thrive?

Converting leads to sales doesn't have to be hard or spammy! Are you ready to learn the most effective, genuine and authentic ways to sell?
Today’s guest colors outside the lines and does things differently. She’s one-part intuitive, one-part strategist and one-part creative.
Emi Kirshner has worked in many different industries from restaurants to motorcycles to financial services and now helps entrepreneurs work effectively to double and triple their revenue.
In this episode Emi teaches us how to increase sales by maximizing process and lead capture.
Who Loves Sales? No one ever says they love sells. Well, maybe a few people, but the rest of us don’t like it!
When we come from a place of servitude, we sell more. It’s important to take ourselves out of the equation.
Converting Leads to SalesYour job is to help the person gain clarity on the problem they have. They will then be able to make a better decision to either hire you or someone else.
Don’t have a mindset of getting people to sign on the dotted line, think about the outcome of serving them. Coming from a place of service makes converting leads to sales painless and a lot less spammy.
People often don’t realize the problem they have. When we come from a place of giving, people will learn about what we do, and it will help them realize that they need your service.
“People don't know what they want until you show it to them.” ~ Steve Jobs
We all live in a box and we only see what’s in the box. Even when actively seeking to look for new things, we miss what we actually need. As humans, we don’t know what we don’t know.
Having someone bring the awareness of what we need or a problem we have, is a gift.
Before a call, writing copy or creating a sales page, think about what your ideal audience needs, and you’ll be able to create content that really grabs the attention of your ideal avatar.
We need to listen and pay attention with intention when communicating with people so that we can really be in tune to their needs. Doing so will help us better connect with our audience and help them learn more about the problem we solve for them.
Maximizing ProcessThink about simplifying. Streamline action items to create an efficient method to accomplish them. If you are doing things repetitively, then create a process to do them quickly. If tasks are taking forever, it’s time to reevaluate how you are doing them. Look at how to simplify them to create freedom.
When you have systems in place, it is easier to delegate.
The Sales ProcessKnow your main offer? This can change from time to time, but you need to know what it is at the time. Once you identify your main offer, serve your audience and you will begin converting leads to sales. It may take time, but it will happen.
Think about the number of leads you need. People aren’t going to come knocking on our door because of social media posts. We need to warm up our audience.
When doing a webinar, you may have 20% of the registrants actually show up, and only a small percent of those will purchase from you.
Build your audience with ads, social media, have affiliates. Start with asking your inner circle to share the program or webinar. Share your excitement and that you want to share value.
Make a 100-lead ListWhen you do this, even if people on your list don’t buy, someone they know will buy. It’s the energy that you create that attracts people to become a warm audience, or purchase from you.
Secrets to Capturing LeadsThe key is giving value through content. Follow up is the key. It takes 10 to 20 touch points for people to buy from you. Your email list is a great way to stay in touch with your audience and provide value.
Reframe how you look at sales. When you think positively about it, you’ll have a more positive experience.
When leads come in:Just keep the process simple or it will fail.

Julia Armet is a community leader who believes in high touch, high tech and shares her innovative business practices for virtual entrepreneurship by leading a community of powerful, passionate, and purposeful service professionals. Her organization is The Higher Playbook.
She is a former match maker who is energized by service and community and is going to inspire you to follow your values, visions and passions to live a life of fulfillment.
At a young age Julie decided she wanted to help people and make a lot of money. She first found this opportunity in the hospitality industry and then transitioned to match making. Her curiosity and love of community drove her to success in this role.
Higher Playbook for Virtual BusinessIt started with the curiosity of what is possible. Julia believes in creating a higher standard of leadership. The way to create a higher standard of leadership is to tap into the possibilities that exist when they are in alignment with their purpose and values and playing out their dreams by their own rules.
Mastering the Virtual Business WorldAnyone can find success virtually if they show up and share.
Higher Standard of LeadershipJulia believes every human is a leader. Energy leadership is all about knowing how to lead yourself so that you can lead others.
Spiritual StressWhen you are feeling a spiritual disconnect and not feeling fulfilled, you are in a state of spiritual stress.
LeadershipJulia describes leadership as the ability to pull from the power within and exercise the ownership of who you are and what you do. After working with a leadership coach, Julia decided she want to work with others on leadership and went back to school. This is when she started to recognize values and spiritual stress. Regardless of where you are, when you start to look at purpose, a purpose journal, you can identify when you feel most purposeful. Which ultimately aligns with your values.
Julia likes to say how we do anything is how we do everything. Your values are what regulate how you do things every day and this is the high playbook that she speaks of. Your values can lead you and you can lead your values into creating the life of your dreams.
The Number One Question or Struggle That the Higher Playbook Helps Resolve
When Julia thinks about problems, she also thinks about possibility. One question is how am I going to be able to create my next move? When people come to Julia, they are often times asking how, but the real question is who. When we discover who we are, the how is answered.
ConsistencyBeing consistent is how we build the know like and trust factor. Trust is important for others to believe in us, but we also must trust ourselves. Self-trust starts with honoring intuition and knowingness. To trust knowingness, is empowering.
High Touch High Tech in the Virtual Business WorldHow do we maintain the high touch concept when working primarily, on line. The key is showing up and sharing and it all starts with your belief system. And, you must believe that anything is possible on the world wide web.
Start with a vision and then trust the great idea. Strategy comes next. Think about what a virtual business would look like. If connectivity is important, then you must show up and infuse love languages into your business. Think about quality connections instead of the quantity of connections.
Mastering the tech available such as Zoom, email marketing, etc. and then play them out purposefully.
BrandingYour brand is going to grow, evolve and change with you. The key is to always let your values lead you. Aligning your values is what will sustain you long term. Consistently being who you are and embracing authenticity will allow you to bring your gifts into any part of your journey.
Virtual Tools for Evergreen ContentZoom allows us to create recordings that can be repurposed on YouTube, Vlogs, etc. Your email list is something you own and allows you to initiate conversation with your ideal audience at any time. Think of it as a constant point of contact with potential to convert your audience to clients. The important thing is to always show up and share yourself.

LinkedInIn the early 2000’s LinkedIn was a professional networking platform, but over the years it has evolved into a mega platform where you can network and build relationships that are sustainable. The year 2020 has become the year of online networking.
LinkedIn is a place to harness your profile and brand that you are building along with engaging with people in groups. Some groups have hundreds of people that you are able to connect with.
Building an Online PresenceLinkedIn is a great platform to build relationships and become the authority in your area of expertise.
The LinkedIn Profile
Customize your specific LinkedIN URL. The URL is sharable. Customize it to your name or business.
The headline is the most important piece. Put the juicy key words associated with your brand and business in the headline because they are searchable.
In other words, your LinkedIn profile is like your resume on steroids. It is the resume that never sleeps. You can get connections and people will find you while you are sleeping, even when you aren’t engaging.
Recommendations, Endorsements and FeaturesThey become a powerful way to showcase your expertise and that you are an authority in your space. It is free PR. Having all of these things help you with visibility, but they may not be the reason for connection.
When building your network, connect with those you know, or already have a relationship with. Ask them to endorse you or recommend you.
Keep in mind they are value added, but not a requirement. However, they are great to show that you provide value and are an expert in your area of expertise.
Posting and EngagementEngagement is the way that you will build your network and drive traffic to your website. It is important to post every day. Post your content daily and spend time engaging in groups.
When creating content, think about what you are using the platform for. You can do the same think on LinkedIn that you would do on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. LinkedIn isn’t just a blog, it’s a platform built for networking.
Post a post or article at least once a week and engage at least 3 to 4 times per week.
HashtagsLinkedIn followed Twitter on the hashtag bandwagon. Hashtags will determine who sees your content. Use hashtags that tell the story of your content.
Connecting and Growing Your Network
Don’t just hit connect and walk away. The key is to build relationships therefore it is important to take the time to write a comment and explain why you want to connect with them. People are very protective of their network and don’t have time to accept hundreds of requests a week. Therefore, it is very important to personalize requests to connect for higher odds the person will connect with you.
Keep in mind that you want connections that are meaningful. Quality connections are more powerful than just a large quantity of connections.
LinkedIn Posts versus LinkedIn ArticlesArticles are longer, more significant content. Repurposing blog posts in articles is a way to use evergreen content.
Posts are shorter, meant to be quick reads or updates.
The LinkedIn Profile PhotoYou should have a professional photo or at a minimum, a really good selfie.
It is so very important because people judge us by what is online. We live in a digital world and you must showcase yourself and help others identify you.
If you are using LinkedIn to find a job or have clients hire you, you must have a professional photo. Be professional. The profile photo is your first impression and your introduction to the online world. Having an updated professional headshot helps build the know like and trust profile.
Don’t bother having a LinkedIn profile if you aren’t going to have an updated professional headshot.
Free versus Paid LinkedIn AccountsThere are a few benefits with having a paid LinkedIn account. However, you can do almost everything you need with a free LinkedIn account.
