  • Episode 388: Keys to a Healthy Mother-Son Relationship with Heidi Allsop
Understanding the Dynamics of Raising Boys In the realm of parenting, the relationship between a mother and her son is both unique and crucial. As children transition from adolescence into adulthood, fostering a healthy mother-son relationship can be pivotal in shaping well-rounded, compassionate, and confident young men. The journey of parenting boys is filled with distinct challenges and joys. Raising sons is not just about addressing their basic needs but also about understanding their intrinsic masculine traits. It's crucial for mothers to be consciously involved in their sons' emotional and social development, which can directly influence how boys perceive their role within the family and society. The Critical Role of Mothers in Building Relationships A striking point raised is the profound impact a mother's relationship can have on her son's development. Contrary to some societal narratives, celebrating masculine traits doesn't have to come at the expense of femininity. Instead, nurturing these traits while fostering empathy and kindness is key. Key Strategy: Open Communication One of the simplest yet most transformative strategies for fostering a healthy mother-son relationship is through open communication. Asking your son questions like, "How do you know I love you?" can open the door to better understanding and communication. This simple question encourages sons to express what actions or words make them feel loved and supported—information that is invaluable for any parent striving to connect more deeply with their child. Addressing Societal Messages About Masculinity It's no secret that boys today face a barrage of mixed messages about masculinity. Many boys are led to believe that their natural inclinations to protect and provide are undesirable or even toxic. However, it's essential to help them embrace these natural traits while also learning to express emotions in a healthy manner. Read the full show notes and access additional links. • 387. Reduce Anxiety and Get Healthier with Amino Acid Therapy with Laurie Hammer
Discover the Power of Amino Acid Therapy to Reduce Anxiety and Get Healthier In today's fast-paced world, maintaining both mental and physical health is more important than ever. Whether you are a parent, a leader, or simply striving to become the best version of yourself, it's essential to find effective ways to support your well-being. One powerful yet often overlooked solution is amino acid therapy—a God-designed approach to healing that addresses your health at the root level. Understanding Amino Acid Therapy Amino acids are the building blocks of life, part of God's intentional design for our bodies to function optimally. These molecules do more than build muscle—they are the raw materials your brain uses to create neurotransmitters like serotonin, endorphins, catecholamines, and GABA. When these brain chemicals are out of balance, we can experience symptoms like anxiety, depression, low motivation, and chronic stress. The Brain-Gut Connection: A Two-Way Street While many people look to gut health as the starting point for healing, the brain cannot be overlooked. Imbalances in brain chemistry—particularly in key neurotransmitters—can lead to cravings, poor digestion, mood swings, and unstable blood sugar. Why Amino Acids Matter Here's how amino acid therapy can help: Reduce Anxiety and Depression: By restoring neurotransmitter levels, particularly serotonin and GABA, you can experience greater calm, improved sleep, and a more lifted mood. Improve Focus and Energy: Boosting catecholamines can restore motivation, mental clarity, and drive. Support Emotional Resilience: Endorphin support helps you feel emotionally grounded and less reactive to stress. Balance Blood Sugar Naturally: Maintaining stable glucose levels is essential for optimal brain health. Protein helps regulate this process, and amino acids play a central role in it. Rejuvenate Your Brain: You need protein—around 30–40 grams three times a day—to support your brain's rebuilding process. Without enough protein, your brain can't make the chemicals it needs to thrive. About Laurie Hammer Before motherhood, Laurie battled an eating disorder, anxiety, and depression, affecting her health, relationships, and overall well-being. Discovering Amino Acid Therapy changed everything, helping her reclaim her life and igniting her passion for health and wellness. The Easy Way to Get Healthy: Discovering Holistic Wellness Through God's Design Thriving in today's world—mentally, physically, and spiritually—requires more than just effort. In a culture that values quick fixes and constant productivity, we've forgotten something simple: the easy way to get healthy is to return to the way God designed us to live. The book of Genesis isn't just the story of creation—it's a blueprint for wellness. It reveals how we are meant to eat, move, rest, and relate. Reclaiming Wellness: What Did God Intend for Your Body and Mind? In today's noisy, overstimulated world, it's easy to feel off-balance. We are distracted by what we see, rushing from one task to the next and often ignoring the signals our bodies send us. As a result, we overcomplicate health when, in reality, the easy way to get healthy is already in front of us—laid out from the very beginning. Genesis 1:29 reads: "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food." This verse reminds us of the essentials. Real food. Natural light. Movement. Rest. Community. Breath. These aren't trends or fads. They are timeless tools—gifts God built into creation to help us thrive. The Genesis Prescription: 7 Essentials for Whole-Person Health When you return to God's original design, the path to wellness becomes clear. You don't need to overhaul your life overnight. Instead, by taking small, intentional steps, you begin to experience fundamental transformation. So, here's the easy way to get healthy—one choice at a time: 1. Eat Real Food the Way God Made It 2. Let the Sun Set Your Rhythm 3. Ground Yourself in God's Creation 4. Breathe Like You Were Designed To 5. Honor Rest and Embrace Darkness 6. Move the Way God Designed You To 7. • Bonus Episode: Moms, do you want to experience the benefits of coaching?
The benefits of coaching for moms begin with clarity, confidence, and contentment. Many women want it all! But when anxiety and emotional chaos ensue, achieving goals can feel beyond reach. That is where the benefits of coaching for moms come into play. With the help of coaching, you can maximize your potential in both motherhood and career. The benefits of coaching for moms: a story. • 385. Moms, Your Darkest Days Require Desperate Prayer with Rachel Wojo
Finding Peace in Chaos: How Desperate Prayers Anchor Us in Life's Toughest Moments Life isn't always predictable—or easy. At some point, we all face moments that shake us: a health crisis, a broken relationship, financial uncertainty, or the quiet weight of feeling lost. In those moments, hope can feel distant. But there's a powerful tool available to every person of faith—desperate prayer. The Power of Prayer Desperate prayers are more than just words; they are a conversation with God, a way to seek comfort and find answers. Prayer is essential for navigating life's toughest moments and finding solace, strength, and direction. By speaking to God, you can find the fortitude to face each day with hope and purpose. From Breakdown to Breakthrough: Stories of Real Transformation Through Desperate Prayer Many people share that it wasn't until they hit their lowest point that they truly connected with God. Whether they were praying over a sick child, facing a job loss, or feeling spiritually empty, desperate prayers marked a turning point. But the outcome wasn't always what they asked for—it was often something deeper: Peace in the middle of the storm A sense of being seen and known A renewed understanding that God's plan may look different, but it's always rooted in love Trust grows in those places. And over time, many realize that God wasn't distant; He was working all along. Prayer is a Two-Way Conversation: Are You Listening? Most people pray expecting answers—but few pause to listen. Desperate prayer doesn't end when the talking stops. It continues in quiet reflection, in Scripture, in nature, and even in the people around you. Sometimes, God's answers come gently: through a feeling of peace, a conversation you weren't expecting, or an idea that brings surprising clarity. • 384. Moms Increase Revenue by Using Value-Based Pricing Strategies and the Profit First Model with Kristin Gravitt
Thriving Business Finances with Value-Based Pricing Strategies and the Profit First Model Running a successful business today requires more than just hard work—it takes strategy, clarity, and a sustainable approach to finances. Adopt value-based pricing strategies and implement the Profit First model to avoid burnout. Together, these two approaches enable business owners to set prices based on the value they provide, ensuring that profit is prioritized from the outset. Rethinking Your Worth with Value-Based Pricing Strategies: What Are You Providing? One of the most common pitfalls in business is undervaluing your work, particularly when pricing is based solely on the time spent. Instead of asking, "How long did this take me?" with value-based pricing strategies, we ask, "What difference is this making for the person I serve?" When you price based on value, you recognize the real impact of your work: peace of mind, business growth, clarity, and confidence. These things go far beyond time spent and deserve to be reflected in how you charge. Clients aren't just paying for your time—they're investing in meaningful change. And that change has measurable value. You deliver an ROI when you help a client increase their revenue, streamline operations, or reduce stress that leads to better decision-making. This return on investment (ROI) often exceeds the cost of your services. By clearly communicating that ROI—whether it's financial growth, time saved, or long-term stability—you make it easier for clients to see your services as an investment, not an expense. When you price according to the outcomes you create, you simplify your pricing, establish clear expectations, and reinforce the true worth of your services. • 383. You Need These Holistic Healing Strategies Through Faith and Neuroscience with Heather Shriver Burns
Faith and Neuroscience: A Holistic Approach to Living with Intention Faith and neuroscience together form a robust framework for navigating life's challenges with clarity and purpose. In a world obsessed with speed and constant motion, we often race through life without noticing what's really happening inside ourselves. But lasting growth doesn't come through hustle—it begins when we slow down, become aware, and invite God into the process. Through honest reflection and emotional awareness, we create space for real, Kingdom-aligned transformation. Where Faith and Neuroscience Meet Faith and neuroscience don't compete—they complement each other. Neuroscience reveals how the brain functions, while faith offers a spiritual framework for renewal. Science reveals the process; Scripture defines the purpose. Together, they remind us that God designed us with intention, both biologically and spiritually. When we understand our thought patterns, emotions, and habits, we can align them more closely with God's truth. As Scripture says, "You are known by your fruit." This level of awareness helps us evaluate not just our actions but the outcomes they produce—peace or burnout, connection or isolation, growth or stagnation. The Power of Pause: Slowing Down to See Clearly Speed often blocks transformation. We rush from one task to the next and drift off course without even realizing it. When we don't slow down, we miss the opportunity to check in with ourselves and with God. But pausing isn't a weakness—it's wisdom. Stillness creates the space for clarity, and clarity opens the door to lasting change. The "S" in the STEM model (which explores the interaction between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors) stands for "Seen"—what others and we ourselves can observe. But what's visible only scratches the surface. True growth requires digging deeper—examining our motivations, fears, and deeply held beliefs. Awareness is the First Step to Change Healing starts with honesty. We can't change what we refuse to acknowledge. That's why honesty is kindness—even when it feels uncomfortable. Naming what's real—your stress, frustration, sadness, or confusion—opens the door to healing and wholeness. About Heather Shriver Burns Heather is a former classroom teacher, turned corporate executive, and now entrepreneur. After building multiple 6-, 7-, and 8-figure businesses, she realized something was missing—she was successful by the world's standards, but she was stressed out. She knew God didn't give her an assignment to stress her out. So she redefined success with God and has been building her business with peace and purpose. Now, she helps ambitious Christian women stop striving for success and start seeking God's guidance to co-labor with Him in every area of life. • 382. Finally listening to God's plan for me requires significant change
I have a confession. I did not listen to God's plan for me. In 2022, I ignored God's plan for me. I had just published my book and was meditating when I felt the Holy Spirit say, "Create a program for women and their daughters to help them navigate anxiety." I didn't hear this command audibly; I felt it in my spirit. And I thought, okay, that sounds cool, but I won't do it. Despite having written a best-selling book about anxiety, having a doctorate in pharmacy, and being in the throes of raising three kids who have experienced anxiety, I doubted I had the expertise. Fast-forward to January 2025, and bam! God woke me up and has been peeling back all the layers of my heart and soul like an onion. Here's where I am today and what it means for the podcast, my business, and you. God's plan for me is coming to fruition. Let me start by saying that this has not been easy. It's taken much time, energy, and mental capacity. But here I am, and I feel God leading each step I take. He has shown me a lot, opened my eyes, and awakened me from resistance and disobedience. So, of course, this season has been difficult. Opportunities I had not been expecting. In 2024, Molly Claire hired me as a business consultant to help her with SEO, her podcast, and online visibility. I worked with her through two successful launches, and towards the end of the year, she proposed that we continue to work together and that I join her master coach training. No was my initial response. Not because I didn't love working with her, but because I wasn't convinced I needed training to become a coach. After all, I already had a master certification as a Christian life coach that I wasn't using. After praying about it, I felt God leading me to it. In the back of my mind, I thought, well, maybe I need parenting and trauma training as I expand my book series. It couldn't hurt, anyway. So I agreed and highly recommend her program for any coach who wants to expand on their knowledge of coaching. If you reach out to Molly, tell her I sent you her way. But that's not all! As I learned from Molly and her other instructors, I realized I wanted to learn more about the nervous system and the brain. I knew it would be advantageous to learn more since I hadn't studied this extensively since pharmacy school, and could use what I learned when writing. Access full shownotes and all links

  • 381. Ditch the Prosperity Gospel. Trust God's Timing. with Rebecca George
Trusting God's Timing in a Hurry-Up World In a culture built on instant gratification and fast results, trusting God's timing can feel unnatural—even impossible. We're constantly told to hustle, push harder, and take control of our destinies. But the truth is, when we surrender our timeline and desires to God, it leads to a richer, more fulfilling life. Understanding God's Timing It's easy to assume we know what's best for our lives. We make plans, set goals, and chase what we believe will fulfill us—only to find that our best-laid strategies often fall short. But God's timing isn't just different—it's perfect. When we root ourselves in biblical truth, we can step back from striving and lean into the promises of a God who is never late. His timing may not align with ours, but it always aligns with His purpose. Trusting God's timing means believing that He's orchestrating something far greater than what we can see today. Navigating Seasons of Waiting Waiting can be one of the hardest things we do. Whether it's waiting on a relationship, a job opportunity, healing, or a sense of purpose, it's natural to feel doubt, fear, or even frustration. It's crucial to recognize that it's not about denying these feelings but understanding that they are part of a larger, orchestrated plan. When fear and doubt whisper that we're falling behind, we must remember: trust God's timing. Intentional Living in a Fast-Paced World We live in a world that equates speed with success. But the kingdom of God often moves at a different pace. Jesus was never in a hurry, and yet He fulfilled every part of His mission. We are invited to do the same: to live intentionally, not reactively. To trust God's timing, we must actively resist the pressure to keep up with the world's pace. That means setting boundaries, evaluating what truly matters, and making space for rest, prayer, and spiritual discipline. When we do this, we trade anxiety for peace—and burnout for purpose. About Rebecca George Rebecca George is an author, podcaster, and speaker whose greatest joy in life is discipling others to pursue their passions in a way that builds the Kingdom. • 380. How to Use SEO to Optimize Your Business
The Power of SEO in Business: How to Use SEO to Build Visibility, Trust, and Efficiency SEO is not just about getting your website to rank on Google—it's about building a brand resume that shows you're a legitimate, trustworthy business. When you use SEO to optimize your business, you create an online presence that appears consistently across search results, helping potential clients see your brand multiple times and in various ways. This builds credibility, familiarity, and trust before they even click. What Is a Brand Resume—and Why It Matters for SEO A strong SEO strategy builds what you can think of as a brand resume—a digital footprint that proves you're a legitimate, professional business. When someone Googles your name or company, do they see just a single link? Or do they find your website, blog posts, podcast features, social media profiles, YouTube videos, and forum contributions all pointing to the same brand voice and value? That kind of visibility across channels creates an impression that you are established and credible. When you use SEO to optimize your business presence across platforms, you tell search engines—and potential clients—that you are not a one-off post or account. You're a brand worth trusting. You Don't Need to Stretch Yourself Too Thin You may have been told that every platform needs unique content, which can lead to burnout. The good news is you don't have to create something different for every platform. You can—and should—share the duplicate core content across all channels. Whether it's LinkedIn, Instagram, or your website, it's all about showing up consistently with a message that reflects your brand and value. This strategy doesn't just save you time—it helps you use SEO to optimize your business content in a way that builds authority and improves rankings. Reddit, Forums, and the New Word of Mouth Platforms like Reddit are goldmines for SEO-savvy business owners. Contributing to forums and threads where your target audience hangs out acts like digital word-of-mouth marketing. If you use SEO principles—like targeting keywords even in your replies and linking to helpful resources—you build authority with users and search engines.
