Fox News digitally replaced footage of Trump wearing a baseball cap he sells at a dignified transfer ceremony for six dead soldiers. Russia is providing Iran with the locations of American troops and the White House said it “does not really matter.” The administration proposed the largest NPS budget cut in history while spending more in three days of war than all national parks cost in a year. Trump is closing the Kennedy Center for a “complete rebuilding” after already demolishing the East Wing. An ICE detainee named Emmanuel Damas died from an infected tooth after two weeks of begging for treatment while staff laughed. Nobody is stopping any of this. That is the story of this week.

The Trump administration is concentrating pregnant child rape victims as young as 12 in a single detention facility in Texas where abortion is banned. Florida political appointees gutted a sociology textbook and are telling professors the pay gap is biological. Tennessee killed a bill to save women’s lives and debated executing abortion patients in the same session. Puerto Rico gave legal personhood to a zygote. A Notre Dame professor was pressured out of a promotion over a pro-choice op-ed she wrote four years ago. Doctors are fleeing ban states across all specialties. South Dakota wants to ban advertising abortion pills. And Virginia is suing to block voters from voting on abortion rights.

The speculum was invented by a man who experimented on enslaved women without anesthesia. The full clitoris wasn’t mapped until 1998 - one woman did it because her textbooks devoted pages to the penis and one page to the clitoris. Gray’s Anatomy included it in 1901 and then removed it. OB/GYN textbooks didn’t add clitoral nerve anatomy until 2019. Menopause affects half the population and medical training barely covers it. OB-GYNs are fleeing abortion ban states. The strike on the Shajarah Tayyebeh girls’ elementary school in Minab, Iran was a double tap. The first bomb hit while 170 girls were inside. The principal moved survivors to the prayer hall and called parents. The second bomb hit the prayer hall. 165 people were killed, almost all of them girls aged seven to twelve.
