Description:

This course explains how to offer parent coaching services as a speech-language pathologist. It distinguishes the difference between parent coaching, parent education, and a speech therapy session. We will describe examples of parent coaching with early intervention language skills. Learn how you can start parent coaching in your area. Earn 1 clock hour of continuing education credit (Introductory Level, Professional Area).

As a result of this presentation the participant will be able to:  

1. Define parent coaching vs parent education.
2. List 3 differences between parent coaching and a speech therapy session.
3. Identify 3 examples of parent coaching for early language skills.
4. Explain 3 ways to offer parent coaching as a service.
