In this episode, we sit down with Jaynie to explore her journey into motherhood. She reflects on how her mother’s unmedicated birth shaped her early understanding of childbirth, and how—despite growing up in a relatively birth-positive environment—she still carried fear around giving birth.

Jaynie shares how she chose a care model that included both an OB and a midwife, and how the mentality of “toughing it out” influenced her mindset during pregnancy.

We move through her experience of each trimester, the decision to work with a doula, and what her birth preparation looked like in real life.

Jaynie opens up about her quick labor and delivery, how she coped through contractions, and the meaningful relationship she developed with her midwife. She speaks to the importance of continuity of care—being supported by the same woman throughout her birth—and how this impacted her experience.

Jaynie also reflects on her early postpartum time in the hospital and how certain aspects of that environment took away from the sacredness of those first hours with her baby. She shares why she is now considering a home birth for baby #2 & how she would approach postpartum care + support differently in the future.

In this birth story, Haley chats with Paige. When finding out she was pregnant, Paige felt called to experience birth as a full initiation into motherhood.

With the support of her doula and the practice of hypnobirthing, Paige began to shift her perception of birth from something to fear into something sacred and safe. She filled her days with affirmations, movement, and trust in her body’s design.

When faced with induction pressure at 40 and 41 weeks, Paige chose faith over fear — writing herself a letter, praying, and holding the vision of her dream birth. What unfolded was powerful and deeply spiritual: a birth marked by primal sound, & divine surrender, in the presence of her mother, husband, and doula.

In this episode, Paige shares how she manifested her birth experience in a hospital setting, how movement kept her grounded through pregnancy, and why positive birth stories and a trust in God made all the difference.

In this conversation, Haley chats with Sydney, her previous client, about her 2 birth stories.

Sydney's first birth was an unplanned induction which resulted in an epidural, despite having the intention of going unmedicated. She talks about the fear that was instilled in her from her medical team & how she felt unprepared in the hospital setting to advocate for herself, despite having a doula. It was after this experience that inspired Sydney to educate herself even more in the preparation for her second birth a couple years later.

Sydney's second birth was in a birth center with midwives where she able to labor on her own, be in the tub & push in the positions that felt right for her body. She highlights some of the main differences between a medicated vs unmedicated birth & shares how much easier the recovery was for her second birth.

Many women choose hospital birth for their first & despite best intentions, end up with a cascade of interventions. Sydney's story is one of triumph & determination to experience a redemptive birth, one free of interference & full of trust.
