Four black young adults have been charged with hate crimes for abducting and torturing a mentally disabled white teen while live-streaming on Facebook. Their lawyers, pleading bail, tried to make the case the four were responsible people with jobs, going to school and one looked after a sibling confined to a wheel chair. Their bail was denied. 

What allows four individuals to simultaneously abduct and torture another person for perhaps 48 hours in a planned and vicious manner? Why wouldn't one or more of the four have cautioned to stop along the way?

In 2016, 4378 people were shot in Chicago and 3665 were wounded. 713 were shot and killed on the spot. There were 795 homicides in total.

In the first four days of this month, 53 people have been shot - 46 of those were wounded and 7 of those were killed.

Is it just Chicago, or is Chicago just running ahead of an alarming curve?
