- Caster Semenya is favoured to win the Gold Medal in middle distance, but there is still talk about her much higher than usual testosterone levels for a woman. Some still argue she should be competing against men. The IAAF and IOC drafted regulations to limit the amount of natural testosterone allowed in the bodies of female athletes. After winning the 800 meters race at the World Championships in Berlin in 2009, Semenya was ordered to undergo a gender test by the IAAF. Guest:  Madeleine Pape, Olympic runner who supports Caster Semenya. She represented Australia in the 800 meter race during the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing and at the 2009 World Championship where she raced against Caster Semenya and lost to her. Pape is now a graduate student in sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. One of her areas of research interest is gender equality and sport.

September 11th is the 15th anniversary of 9/11 and the Town of Gander (NF/Labrador) in partnership with Wounded Warriors Canada and Maureen Basnicki, Founder: Canadian National Day of Service will commemorate that fateful day at Gander, where 39 commercial airliners, with 6,600 passengers were forced to land and the people of Gander exhibited delivered great acts of personal and community kindness.

Maureen Basnicki's husband Ken was killed at the World Trade Center on 9/11.
