As well, if criminal charges are laid against an accused in the death of a police officer, families must wait sometimes for years for a court judgment against an accused.
Guest: Jason Harnett. Brother to Calgary Police Service Sergeant Andrew Harnett, killed New Year's Eve 2020 when dragged by a vehicle during a roadside sobriety test. The individual driving the vehicle was convicted of manslaughter last November and will face a sentencing hearing late next month.
