  • Apr 7: Dolkun Isa. President World Uygher Congress, on the run from Beijing.

As the public inquiry into foreign (China) interference in Canada continues, with among others PM Justin Trudeau scheduled to testify at the hearing he did not want and his appointed special rapporteur and former Governor General David Johnston said last year would not take place, we hear from the president of the World Uygher Congress Dolkun Isa, a short-listed candidate for the 2023 Nobel Peace Prize and author of The China Freedom Trap: My Life on the Run.

Canada's parliament voted unanimously in support of a motion declaring the Beijing government to be engaging in Genocide against its Uygher population, although the entire Liberal federal cabinet left the room before the vote took place.

Guest: Dolkun Isa. President, World Uygher Congress. Was declared a murderer by the Chinese Communist Party and a Red Notice was filed with Interpol by Beijing. Dolkun Isa's struggles continue as do his fears of Beijing's agents worldwide.

  • The Roy Green Show Podcast, Apr6: Israel Ambassador to Canada. Allies turning on Israel? - Homeless. Glen on living in his car trying to restart his life. - Fmr CPC MP Kenny Chiu. China election interference.

    Today’s podcast:

Israel Defence Forces drone attack on World Central Kitchen aid convoy to Gaza resulted in deaths of seven WCK volunteers, including Canadian CAF veteran Jacob Flickinger. PM Trudeau publicly challenged Israeli PM Netanyahu and U.S. president Biden declared continued American support for Israel's war to eliminate Hamas is contingent on Israel taking real steps to protect aid workers. Israel has dismissed an IDF Colonel and Major engaged in the drone attack.

Guest: Iddo Moed. Israel Ambassador to Canada.

Last June, just weeks after economic circumstance forced a Kelowna, B.C. former small business owner to live in his car, this 60+ guest shared with us how difficult the transition to this kind of life was. We became curious, in the wake of Justin Trudeau's repeat housing funding announcements how our guest's reality had continued. Did he spend the winter living in his car? What are his prospects moving forward?

Guest: Glen Peters, formerly identified as "Peter." That's what we called him on air last year. Today he will talk about the last 8 months of his life, which includes writing three books, all of which are gaining traction. However, his prospects for a more permanent rental dwelling remain questionable.

Public Inquiry on Foreign Interference heard a week of witnesses and testimony.

Guest: Kenny Chiu. Former CPC MP, Steveston - Richmond East, B.C. Testified before Inquiry Tuesday.

  • Apr 6: Abmassador Olexander Scherba, Ukraine military supplies running low.

While the world's current focus is on the Israel/Hamas war, Ukraine's war with Russia has entered its third year and news from Ukraine is that the country's military is running seriously low on war fighting equipment and munitions as the U.S. primarily is holding up a major arms shipment due to Republican/Democrat political infighting. NATO secretary general Jens Stoltenberg has floated a plan for a 100-billion Euro, 5-year weapons support plan for Ukraine prior to the U.S. national election in November. NATO is calling on all its members to live up to their 2% of GDP military spending commitment that Canada has already said we will not reach.

While Ukrainian drones are now striking deep inside Russia, on the battlefields its military is facing operating with war equipment and mismatched ammunition. Meanwhile, French president Macron has not ruled out sending French ground troops into Ukraine to engage Russia there.

Guest: Ambassador Olexander Scherba, from Kyiv. Ambassador Sherba was Ukraine's chief diplomatic representative to Austria and a member of the Ukraine diplomatic delegation to Washington.

  • Apr 6: Jon Reid, Toronto Police Association, response to critical letter from City Councilors

We speak with Toronto Police Association president Jon Reid about the letter sent by six members of Toronto City Council, two on the police board, challenging police action at pro-Palestinian protests and demonstrations, particularly on March 30 when several people were arrested after clashing with police. The councillors letter includes "it is deeply concerning to hear residents voicing fears about their freedom to engage in protests, demonstrations and large gatherings."

Toronto Chief of Police Myhron Demkiw's statement in reply included "The service will always respect the right to lawful assembly, which we have done, consistently since October 7"......"When individual behaviour crosses into criminality, endangering officers or the public we will enforce the law, as is our duty....."last weekend alone, police officers were assaulted, spit on, a police horse was struck, lawful orders not followed and demonstrators attempted to obstruct officers who were effecting arrests."

The Toronto Police Association in its statement wrote officers have exercised patience, have been professional and opted to de-escalate situations while "officers have been threatened with injury or death."

A demonstration is planned for Toronto this afternoon.

Guest: Jon Reid. President. Toronto Police Association.

  • The Roy Green Show Podcast, Mar31: AB premier Danielle Smith Carbon tax immoral. - Prof Eric Kam Cda in econ emergency says BOC Deputy Gov. - ResearchCo CEO Mario Canseco Liberal/NDP merger? - Cdns for Affordable Energy Dan McTeague carbon tax rise.

    Today’s podcast:

Three premiers appeared before the federal government operations and estimates committee this past week to make the case for delay of tomorrow's federal carbon tax increase (or abandoning the carbon tax entirely). Yesterday we spoke with Saskatchewan premier Scott Moe (one of the three premiers). Today Alberta premier Danielle Smith who also appeared before the parl committee and made the case the carbon tax increase is not just "reckless, but also immoral." Meanwhile Alberta's fuel rebate ends tomorrow as well, adding 4 cents per litre charge for gasoline and diesel.

    Guest: Danielle Smith. Premier, Alberta

The senior deputy governor of the Bank of Canada Carolyn Rogers last Tuesday in a Halifax speech made the case falling productivity rates in Canada create an "emergency," adding "you've seen those signs that say "in case of emergency, break glass. Well, it's time to break the glass." Meanwhile, according to the OECD Canada will for the next 36 years (2060) will be the laggard and post the worst economic performance among advanced nations as far as real per capita GDP is concerned.

What does this all mean in everyday speak and what are the implications for Canadian taxpayers, entrepreneurs and career-seeking youth of today??

Guest: Professor Eric Kam. Macroeconomics at Toronto Metropolitan University.

Is it foreseeable the federal Liberal and New Democrat parties will formally unite before the next federal election and merge as a permanent combined party? The Liberal Democrat Party of Canada perhaps?

(This happened in the U.K. in the 1980's...and in 2003 in Canada as the Progressive

Conservative Party of Canada and the Canadian Alliance merged to form the

    Conservative Party of Canada.)

    Guest:

Mario Canseco, president ResearchCo, British Columbia. ResearchCo polled Canadians on the question of a merged federal Liberal/NDP party in October of last year and determined whether a Liberal-NDP merger would hurt the Conservative Party of Canada's pursuit to form national government.

In real terms, what happens to gasoline, diesel, home heating, food, clothing and other related costs beginning tomorrow as the carbon tax takes a leap upward for already stretched to the max Canadians? How might it affect particularly younger Canadian adults, 40% of who according to this Global News story https://globalnews.ca/news/10048246/canadians-lose-sleep-inflation-money-cost-of-living-rbc-young-people/ told reveal to pollsters for the 2023 RBC Financial Wellbeing Survey they are losing sleep over their personal and family finances? Among millennials, ages 27-42, the number losing sleep jumps to 53%.

We speak with Dan McTeague, and callers.

Guest: Dan McTeague. President: Canadians for Affordable Energy.
