In this video, we’re addressing one of the most common questions we’re asked, which is whether or not you need a website for your podcast. The truth is you do need one, and there are 6 reasons why.#️⃣​ 1. The first reason is that having a website gives you a place to archive old episodes. Some podcast directories limit how many episodes listeners can access, but if you have a website you can share links to all of your past shows if you choose to.#️⃣​ 2. Reason number two is that you can repurpose your episodes into other forms of content more easily. This is a great way to utilize the power of SEO to grow your audience, your fanbase, and your business.#️⃣​ 3. Having a website also gives you a place to engage more with your audience. Listeners can comment on how you did, what they think of your material, and even give you episode ideas.#️⃣​ 4. The fourth reason your podcast needs a website is that it makes it easier for people to find your show. Needing to download an app to listen to your episodes could be off putting, but if you have a link to your show right on your website, it’s easier for them to keep up with the latest news and releases.#️⃣​ 5. Having a website gives you a place to gather contact information and share show notes and resources to better serve your listeners. Let’s say you’re talking about an eBook or a course in your latest episode. Your website is the perfect place to direct your listeners to so they don’t have to try and remember the information related to that resource.#️⃣​ 6. The sixth and final reason you need a website is that it gives you a place to promote products and services for sale. Whether they are your offerings or someone else’s, having a website allows your listeners to take advantage of special deals and offers you may have available. Hey everyone! Ashley here with RSS podcasting, and today I’m sharing how to get your podcast on Stitcher. Let’s jump right in. First, head to Stitcher.com and scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Partner Signup under the Partners heading.From here simply click the button that says “Join Us Today.” Now you’ll add your show’s RSS Feed and click next.Once you click next, Stitcher will validate your RSS Feed.At this point, Stitcher will notify you that when you complete the sign up steps you’ll receive a verification email to the email address you used to register for your RSS Podcast hosting account. Go ahead and click “next step” to complete the signup process.Your next step is to add your name, your email address, and choose a password. Then, click sign up.Next, you’ll see the terms of use. Click Agree and your show will be added to the Stitcher platform. Now click take me to the partner portal, and then head over to your email inbox to verify ownership of your show.Your inbox should contain an email that says “Authorize the addition of your show to Stitcher.” Open it and click the blue button that says “I Approve. Add This Show to Stitcher.”Once clicked, it should bring you to the Partner Portal sign in page with a pop up that thanks you for verifying ownership. Click okay, and then login. After logging in, you should be brought to your partner portal dashboard, but you’re not quite done yet.Now, head back to your email provider, and there should be an email containing information about your show’s addition to Stitcher. If everything was in order, the email will tell you your show has been reviewed and approved for the platform, and will be visible to the public soon. If not, you’ll be given instructions for how to proceed. And that's all there is to it. If you followed all these steps correctly and there were no errors, your show should be on Stitcher and you can keep growing your fan base on one more podcast directory. Hey everyone, Ashley here with RSS podcasting, and today I'm gonna share some advice on choosing a name for your podcast. A lot of hosts struggle with this because they don’t know where to begin.The first step is to sit down and start brainstorming. Consider what your show is about and the keywords that best describe it. You’ll also want to think about things like SEO and keeping your title short to make it easier for your listeners to find you online. Write everything down that comes to mind, and then look at the list you’ve compiled and see what jumps out at you the most.If you’re still stuck, it may also help to write a brief description of your show, narrow it down to one short sentence, and then narrow it down further to just a couple of words. If you’re still struggling after that, look at other show titles and then sit with your brainstorm sheet to see if a theme for a name emerges.Another great idea is to ask people on social media what they think you should call it. Who knows? Your best friend’s cousin’s sister might have the perfect name for your show!If all else fails, you could use your own name. Or if you’re hosting with someone else, use both of your names. You can do this when you’re first creating your account, or you can change it at any time simply by clicking edit on your podcast dashboard.Once on the podcast details screen, click update cover art.Upload your image, and then click the purple save buttonFinally, click the orange and pink save button at the bottom of the podcast details page, and your podcast art will be updated.That’s all there is to it. Hey everyone! Ashley here with RSS.com podcasting. Today I'm sharing how to get your podcast on iTunes.1. First head to podcastsconnect.apple.com. You’ll need to create an Apple ID if you don’t already have one. Otherwise, login to get started.2. Once you’ve logged in, the first screen you should see is an RSS Feed submission form. Fill in your feed’s URL, and then click validate.3. After it’s been validated, the details of your show should populate on the page, and if there are no issues, the status will say “Prepared for submission.” Now, click the submit button to have your show sent to Apple for review.4. Once you click submit, it may take a few moments, but you should receive a pop up that says “podcast successfully submitted for review.” The notice also indicates that Apple will email you once the review process is complete.5. Click Ok on the pop up and you’ll be taken to your podcast’s iTunes page where you should see a status that says “submitted for review.”If everything is in order, you’ll receive an email from Apple that indicates your show has been approved for iTunes. If not, it should explain why it was rejected with instructions for fixing the issues for resubmission.The approval email will contain a link to your show on the iTunes store and information on when it will be live and visible using search. These numbers are only continuing to grow, so, if you're not on it, you should be! Here's how. Head over to https://podcasters.spotify.com/​Go ahead and create an account if you don't already have one. As with many podcast directories, you’ll want to make sure that the email address you sign up with is the same one you used for your podcast host. Otherwise, you could get an error when you're trying to submit your podcast.Once you've logged in simply click "Get Started."Now you’ll add your podcast’s RSS feed, and click next. Check out the link in this episode’s description box to learn how to create your a RSS feed for your podcast if you don’t already have one.Your next step is to verify you own the podcast that you're submitting. You’ll receive a verification code to the email address that's associated with your RSS feed.After you’ve verified ownership, fill in the details of your podcast. This information is used to tell people who find your show what your podcast is about.The final step before you submit your podcast is to double-check your details. If everything is accurate, click submit.If there were no errors in submitting your show, you should see a success screen. It can take as many as a few hours to as long as a few days for your podcast to show up. Unfortunately, right now Spotify doesn't send you an email to let you know if they've actually loaded your show to their platform. In the meantime, you can click track podcast to see the status.Until the show is live, your dashboard will continue to say processing next to your submission date. Keep checking back to see if your show appears in the directory.Once it’s done processing, you’ll see your show is live in the catalog section of your dashboard. And that's all there is to it!
