Shawna and CJ Fraser join The Safety Struggle Host Linda Martin for a chat about growing up in - and into - the family business, Fraser Engineering.

The Frasers found their way back to the family business as the CEO/President (CJ) and the VP of Safety (Shawna) after having adventures of their own in interior design and yachting, respectively.

What is neat about the Frasers is their strong focus on family values and a REAL culture of caring about their employees. This discussion speaks strongly about a business where safety took hold through necessity, but lives strong through a true belief that people are a businesses greatest assets.

Captain Jen Román chats with childhood friend, Linda, in probably one of the best The Safety Struggle episodes yet!

Captain Jen Román manages the Emergency Medical Services Division for the City of Madison Fire Department, having served as a firefighter, paramedic, training officer and lieutenant. She is also faculty for Madison College in the School of Human and Protective Services and earned a Masters from UW-Madison in Adult and Continuing Education. Jen has been an active Girl Scout volunteer for over 25 years, helping girls and women become their best selves.

Not one to sit around waiting for something to happen, she took on gender inequity head-on and founded CampHERO, a summer camp for girls in Kindergarten through 12th grade that teaches courage, confidence and character while introducing them to the protective services.

Captain Roman was honored in Washington, D.C. in 2018 with a Jefferson Award as someone who has had maximum impact on the things they care about, has changed their communities and the world, and inspired action.

Vikram Kapur is the Safety Manager at NURO, a company whose mission is to accelerate the benefits of robotics for everyday life - specifically a self-driving vehicle designed for local goods transportation.

Vikram chats with Dr. Linda Martin about what excited his passion for the safety profession and his career path that includes working at Anheuser-Busch, Lockheed-Martin, Chevron, Uber, and now NURO.

Rick Riley is a 10 year veteran of the U.S. Air Force and currently the Safety Director for a pharmaceutical company that is partnered with several companies working on variants of fast track COVID vaccines.
