Karl and Crew

The Same Power

Listen Later

Perry and Shawna talk about how the Resurrection that happened 2000 years ago meets real life today.  First we have a conversation about why it’s important to know that Jesus rose physically, not just symbolically:  It assures us of our own bodily resurrection, it is the promise of new heavens and new earth and it means we don’t really have anything to fear!  Then, maybe one of the reasons for this pandemic is for us to take a hard look at the wells we are drinking from for ultimate satisfaction:
Food.  Sex.  Comfort.  Safety.  401 K’s.  Likes on social media.  Porn.  Pot.  Netflix.  Ministry.  Perry admits some of his own dirty wells and encourages us to stop up these wells and drink from the river of life that flows from Jesus’ wounded side.  All our thirsts are quenched in him.  We were made for Him!  Finally, the same power that created the universe, that parted the Red Sea, that raised Jesus from the dead is the power that is working in you and me.  His strength is ours today and will carry to the other side of this pandemic.
