Jesus said, "I go to prepare a place for you...I AM the way, the truth, and the life." Religion likes to control the way, but to do that, you have to nail Him down. Jesus is the way and He is the destination. And the way prepares the destination.

Jesus said to Peter, "Truly, truly I say to you, the rooster will not crow until you have denied me three times. Let not your heart be troubled. [You] believe in God, [You] believe also in me." When we worry, we seize control & make plans. But God has a plan that we would surrender control & never worry. So Peter, "Let not your heart be troubled. Your plans are your trouble. Let not your heart be troubled. You believe, and that's the plan."

Theoretically there are two ways to abolish slavery: first, try to make everyone into their own master (alone, in control of their own world), and second, make everyone into slaves (everyone constantly sacrificing for each other). One looks a lot like hell, and the other looks like a great dance, a banquet, a party, the Party—it's eternal life in God's image.

Maybe Jesus blinds Pharisees so they can see the Light. And maybe we're all Pharisees born into the same lie. And if God healed us then, if He preserved us in that state, we'd be stuck in hell: bitter, resentful, incapable of love. So God sets us up for unrighteousness so that we can see His righteousness.

The King of Kings enters Jerusalem "triumphant and victorious" riding an ass. And that's how He conquers the world—not with guns, governments, programs, and laws —but with the power to surrender power and look like an ass to the world—from the perspective of heaven; that's the power of love.
