The hearing concludes, and our team drives to St. Joseph to visit the site where Sandy was first interrogated by police: the St. Joseph State Hospital. Now the site of a prison and a museum, we work to understand the disturbing past of Missouri’s mental health facilities and investigate why so many people with mental illness are placed in Missouri prisons.
