John, Ron, and Dave resume the College Football Previews with our look at each of the Group of Five conferences.   Can Cincinnati have another good season after going undefeated in 2020?   Will UCF rebound after a mediocre 2020 season?  Can Boise State continue its success after losing long time coach Bryan Harsin, will San Diego State be good for another bowl, and can Nevada or San Jose State make another run toward a division title in the Mountain West?  Who will challenge for a New Years Six Bowl among the Group of Five, and could a CUSA or or MAC team crash the party?  All that and more as we round out part two College Football Preview Show.

John in CT and Ron in NJ are back for our 2021 College Football Preview Show!  In this episode, part one, we cover the season storylines which include forthcoming playoff expansion, new Name Image and Likeness allowances in the NCAA, and Oklahoma/Texas going to the SEC.    Later the crew offer our previews of each of the Power Five Conferences: The SEC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac 12, and ACC.  

Gerry Will returns with Dave to chat about the MLB Trade Deadline moves, including huge pickups for the Dodgers, Padres, and others.   We'll get into Max Scherzer and Trea Turner joining the defending champion Dodgers, and all star Adam Frazier joining the rising Padres in San Diego.  Plus, more on the Yankees struggles, even more NL West action where Kris Bryant joins the Giants, and much more from the mid-season MLB deadline.

SPECIAL ENCORE PODCAST, originally aired August 1, 2011:  30 years ago on this date, Warner-Amex Satellite Entertainment Company introduced a concept like no other: A 24 hour Music Video Telelvision Service, MTV.   On this special edition of "Dave in the City," Dave and collaborator John Ogg (johninga) discuss the impact of MTV on music, culture, and society, speak on how MTV started, and sample some of the music MTV featured on its first day of broadcast.   Tonight we feature an interview with Asia and Yes' Geoff Downes, who performed with The Buggles on "Video Killed the Radio Star."

Parcells Falling Out returns for a special daytime "Random Questions" show with Dave.   This time, we recap a really exciting Euro tournament in soccer won by the Team Italy a.k.a. Forza Azzuri.  Italy pull out the win in penalty kicks.   We get into the exciting finish, the meltdown of England penalty kickers near the end of the game, and much more from a great soccer tournament.  We'll also cover Copa America to a lesser extent and get into other potpourri while taking questions from YouTube chat!

Mike in North NJ returns for the Open Championship recap show with Dave as we cover the final major of the year.   Collin Morikawa at the age of 24 clinches his second major title, beating out good performances by Jordan Spieth, Jon Rahm, and Louis Oosthuizen.   Mike and Dave cover what was a particularly good leaderboard with a lot of competition for first place, and outstanding weather conditions at Royal St. George's Golf Course in Sandwich, Kent, England.   Later, we cover the usual surprises and disappointments, media coverage, and other folks in the field from the Open in 2021.  A comprehensive show as we round out the final major of the year and look ahead to other Golf events including the playoffs and the Tour Championship for the FedEx Cup.  John in CT and Andy in Seattle are on assignment.

Ron in NJ and Gerry Will return to DITCOW for a special NJ based Random Q's spot.  We'll chat about the summer so far, some sports, vacations, trips to the Caribbean, and a lot of off topic nonsense.  Plus we take questions from YouTube chat about all sorts of potpourri.

Junkie and Dave will let the audience offer a question they can't refuse on our special "Godfather Edition" of Random Q's.   Both folks will share their review of the ground-breaking "The Godfather" film plus their related observations of the mob film phenomenon.  It is an interesting perspective from two people who have never seen the film before this week.  Later, we take questions from YouTube chat about the film, the genre, and its impact on moviemaking.

John and Mike return while Andy has the day off for golf as we begin our latest U.S. Open Recap.   Jon Rahm redeems himself after the COVID embarrassment of several weeks ago with his first U.S. Open Title, and also the first-ever U.S. Open win for a Spaniard.  We cover the big win, plus a very tight leaderboard for most of the Final Round, our usual surprises and disappointments, the NBC/Golf Channel media coverage, and much more from the 2021 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines.

Kevin on the Cape, a.k.a. Junkie, returns to DITCOW for his first Random Q's show of the Summer.  Dave and Junkie dig into the summertime foods, playoff series in the NBA and NHL, we form our imminent plans to finally watch "The Godfather" on Amazon Prime video, and a lot more nonsense, plus your Random Questions from YouTube chat.
