December is here, and that means that the Holiday season is everywhere. After some positive feedback from our free association episode back in September, we decided to challenge ourselves and choose a December, winter, Christmas, or other Holiday-related word for each letter of the alphabet. These words led to some fun free associations- from existential thoughts, to kangaroos, to breaking into song! Join us on our exploration of intelligent, creative, and often completely random holiday fun!
It's the time of year to give thanks and spread cheer! So... What do you do if you aren't feeling so grateful or cheery? This week, we are taking a look at gratitude. What can we do to foster it in our everyday lives? How does the season impact us psychologically? How can creating more gratitude in our lives help us to help others all year round? What is important for us to remember when giving back? Find out this week!
At 18, we are made to feel like we should know what we're doing. And... spoiler alert! None of us do. Back in the lovely year of 2006, 18 year old Caela and Chelsea first met... and a LOT has happened since. This week, we take a look back at our young adult selves, and dive into what we wish we knew then. It's a reflective and thought-provoking episode in which you get to find out about our younger selves and take a look back at yours.

"October is a time when trees reveal the colors that have been there all along. People have Octobers too".
Join us this week as we break apart this quote. What kinds of internal "colors" do we hide? How can recognizing these layers of ourselves help us in our lives? Can our "colors" change over time? What are the benefits of the masks we wear-- and what are the drawbacks? It's an introspective, analytical, nerdy, and seasonal episode that you don't want to miss!
We all listen to music. Some of us even play music. But have you ever thought about what it takes for your favorite songs to make their way to your radio stations, iPods, or other music players? This week, we are joined by a special guest host-- musician and audio engineer Jake Sachs-- as he breaks down all the steps involved in creating music... from songwriting all the way through final production. You don't want to miss it!

What comes to mind first when you hear a specific word? For psychologists and for many people, these associations that our brain automatically makes can reveal hidden feelings, values, priorities, and personality traits. So, we thought that we'd take this psychological concept, and create a fun game to get to know ourselves and our friends a little better. Join us and play along as we choose random words from the books we're reading, share our minds' first associations with those words, and discuss what those thoughts might say about us!
