It is technically no longer called "selection" it is now "SAR Land Survival" but no doubt selection sounds cooler and is likely more familiar. BK and I took some time to talk about the PT test that candidates will be expected to pass. I created a training program for this test that is now live!

Bk and I have a very engaging conversation about what has been going on in our worlds. We talk a lot about SAR and what's being going on in our AOR. This brought on a lot of good talk and funny stories.
We also talk about where the show is going; very exciting!
There's a new fitness program coming Dec 1st for prepping for the selection legacy PT test. Messages for selection should be out soon (I have zero info on this) time to send it.

On Oct 27th, 2011 Janick Gilbert, Max Lemay and Marco Journeyman parachuted into the Arctic to save 2 hunters. An extremely challenging mission with multiple agencies involved resulted in saving these 2 Inuit hunters. Tragically Janick Gilbert died during this effort and will forever be remembered.
Today we honour and remember; please share, think about Janick and all the people he had an impact on.

Recently, 424 responded to a plane crash. This was a unique rescue in the sense that it was very close to an airport with multiple agencies involved. Despite the proximity to resources it proved difficult to access the scene. Greg Hudson (team leader for the mission) tells his account.

A very condensed account of the first 25 years of SAR in Canada. It's quite interesting to learn the timeline of how we got to where we are today. We understand this type of episode is not for everyone, but for those interested, enjoy!

Today we interviewed a very well-known and experienced SAR Tech. He flew operationally on all the aircraft we have and spent time at CFSSAR as well as multiple large projects for the SAR world. Needless to say, we had a lot to talk about. Its a longer episode but well worth it! RESCUE!!!!!
