Our concluding talk with Waris. In this short episode, we discuss the nature of art in photography - the reasons behind the mediums existential crisis and how the modern day photographer might be responsible for it. We talk about the photo as a print, an object that can, and perhaps should have some asset value, about galleries and the profit motive that often comes in the way of photographic exhibitions. The third part of our conversation with Abdul Waris. Tune into this episode as we discuss the idea of some sort of a photographic feel. Over the course of the conversation we try to figure out the difference between pictures based in the streets - what separates a documentary photograph from one that is more photojournalistic in nature? Other topics touched upon include Waris's process: his subjects and how they fit into his grand narrative of "photographing marginalization", urban cities and the tragedy of photos.

The 2nd part of our series with Abdul Waris Hameed. In this episode we continue our discussion on the present state of Pakistani photography and how we can improve it, both personally and on a collective, national level. We talk about the need for documentation, mentors, and good criticism. We also hit upon the subconscious and its manifestation in photographic expression; how all artists, photographers or not, are in some way shape or form responding to the collective human tragedy, the suffering of man, that is buried deep within our psyches.

We had a great conversation with Osaidullah Kehar, a photographer based in Karachi, Pakistan. We've named Osaid the Fan Ho of Pakistan for his series of BNW photos of the streets of Karachi.
