Liz tells one of her most embarrassing childhood stories and guiltiest pleasures, and I go on a very Hufflepuff rant. We share a lot of opinions (some which are very likely to be unpopular) and say some things we hopefully won’t immediately regret.

Welcome back, Sartorial Geeks! This week I totally nerd out about my new favorite hobby, Dungeons and Dragons, with Kickstarter backer Kait Disney-Leugers.

 

Kait is a second generation DnD player (whose dad wouldn’t let her play as a kid because his game nights were too “grown up”). I loved chatting with Kait about her DnD experiences because we got into it in very different ways. Kait grew up playing with dice as a kid and joined what turned into a two-year campaign at a local gaming store. I hadn’t even heard of DnD until several years ago and have only played with the same group of friends. Both versions are super fun!

 

If you’re curious about DnD and don’t know where to start or who to play with, Kait has really great advice for finding your first local or online game. There are games for all ages, skill levels, and playing styles. There are also several amazing podcasts devoted entirely to Dungeons and Dragons if you want to dip your toes in that way!

Hello, Sartorial Geeks! Welcome to our first ever year-end review.

 

2018 has been a wild one. For better or worse, it happened, it’s almost over, and there’s a lot to recap!

 

Liz had the wedding of the century, Jordan traveled all over the country spreading the good news of Jordandene, and we started The Sartorial Geek! It’s hard to believe that one year ago this was just the beginning of an idea, and now it’s three (almost four) finished magazines, a fully-funded Kickstarter, forty-three episodes of a podcast, a sweet online hangout, and a brand new website. That’s all because you’ve been supporting us every step of the way, and we are amazingly grateful.

 

For us, 2018 was the year of trying everything, and 2019 will be the year to make all of that even better. We’re already brainstorming interviews and partnerships that we cannot wait to share with you. We’ve got some live shows lined up already and will hopefully be adding even more. And we’re hoping to build out every level of our Sartorial Geek community to help this be one the most useful and welcoming place for nerds of all interests to hang out!
