Montreal based, Algerian singer and MC Meryem Saci, is inspiring a new wave of energy in her electronic music. Connecting nature, movement and self-expression through her diverse range of styles, Meryem is all about raising the vibrations by pulling on influences from North African and Arabic rhythms and melodies. Meryem injects a spiritual pulse into the musical language she creates, fusing together her love of hip-hop, RnB, Soul, Jazz and Reggae.

Having launched her first solo album, 'On My Way' last year, Meryem has carved a space to liberate and rejuvenates her own unique identity as a musician. Best known for being part of the multi-lingual super group Nomadic Massive, Meryem Saci sits down with Cyd Eva to discuss the juxtaposition of her Algerian upbringing and how she uses music to connect with traditions and talented fellow creatives.

Sexual health advocate Enas Dajani has moved across the globe lobbying for female rights in the Arab world.  Tune in to hear Enas talk with Sassy Sister Bethany Burgoyne about the importance of female care and support.

Based in Bethlehem, Palestine, her work has taken her from leading regional sex education programmes, to building her own company, Sletate, that uses jewellery to educate women about their reproductive system. Additionally, she was part of building the first Arabic sexual health app, Mostashari, providing younger people with medical knowledge and support that is so often lacking in the home, and at school.  

In these ways, Enas Dajani is continually provoking conversations about gender inequality and the silence that surrounds sexual health and well-being in Palestine. Forever finding innovative ways to engage her community in forward thinking, educational projects

Documentary filmmaker and stripper, Stella Dixon, and fellow stripper and Ph.D. researcher Scarlet Rose share their Sassy Sistership. Based in Newcastle, Scarlet and Stella discuss the growth of their careers and friendship, connecting over their shared mission to reclaim the narrative of strippers through research.

For Stella, this took the form of her debut mini-doc, 'Born To Flex'; an exploration into the multilayered role of sex work, made in reaction to the media's representation of strippers. Stella talks to Scarlet about the making of her film and the duo dig deeper into explaining which laws need to be implemented to protect and destigmatise sex workers.
