______________
Barbie Angell is poet, writer, artist, actor, comedian, singer, and social media personality in Asheville, NC. She's been voted one of the Mountain Xpress' Best of WNC poets many times in the last decade.... although she has no idea why.
She's also known as an emcee and for wearing bizarre outfits. While most people think she has a tulle fetish, in reality she makes her skirts poofy by holding an air hockey table between her thighs.
In 2016 she returned to acting after a 20 year hiatus. Since then she has been in shows for Dark Horse Theatre, Magnetic Theatre, and done lots of voiceovers.
Barbie was one of the writers of The Kids’ Show, Crimes & Missed Demeanings and 2021's upcoming Grimm's Fairy Tale show at Montford Park. Her autobiographical play, Death By Sparkle; Or What Happens When You Drink Window Cleaner will be produced at The Magnetic Theater sometime after the pandemic.
In her spare time she studies mime architecture, plays full-contact tiddlywinks, and writes her bios in third person.
You can find her work HERE.
