What are your thoughts, was this fair or just capitalism? Update on Gabby Petito, which was not such a surprise but more confirmation, it was confirmed by the coroner that it was indeed a homicide. Our thoughts go out to her family at this time. We also chat about Demi Lovato and her announcement that the word Alien is offensive to Aliens; and end the episode discussing a topic we clearly know nothing about- Internet NTFs and how Tiktok is launching some NFT products. Haugen makes some bold claims, but has a lot of evidence to back it up- it will be interesting to see where this story goes. First of all let us be the first to apologize for talking once again about vaccines and covid- the situation is just getting so frustrating and we needed to rant! We are going to try to avoid covid and vaccine discussions for the next few episodes. Our first story, is about a man in Alabama who ended up dead after being unable to receive hospital care for his heart condition due to the hospitals being full with covid patients. Apparently, nurses tried to contact 43 different hospitals and none in the area were able to assist. Unfortunately, this is an ongoing trend in many areas as hospitals are filling up with covid patients (most of which are unvaccinated). Nicki Minaj is still in the headlines for the uproar that her comment made, about a friend of a friend who allegedly got the covid vaccine and had his balls swell and became impotent. There was no substantial evidence to support her claim, and in addition no other known cases of this happening with people who were vaccinated. The tragic story of Gabby Petito swept the nation, but the sheer media frenzy this case caused forced many to question why this story and not thousands of others hit the nation. One news reporter quoted that is was a perfect example of "missing white woman syndrome". And despite the story being tragic, it does highlight an issue with what stories tend to gather media storms. Lastly, we leave you with a little story about Nikita Dragun, who was under fire for "outting" several people in her music video, showing alleged DMs. As always we hope you enjoyed the episode.

We start this episode discussing how we both re-fell in love with Montreal and our little food tour there! Lastly, we talk about Facebook who is apparently taking steps to suppress some political content in attempts to make the platform less toxic and polarized. But is this move a little too late?

We kick off the episode with Rose's rant on Alberta, the provinces response to our rising case numbers and how to encourage more individual's to get vaccinated by offering them money. Also in the news these days is our favourite conservative from the US, Candace Owen's who was outraged at a private facility refusing to provide her a covid test (instead they suggested she goes to a public facility for the test). What are your thoughts on this, do you think that Candace was being hypocritical in her claims? Texas is in the news again, this time for passing legislation that restricts abortion to illegal after 6 weeks. This has cased massive backlash with many calling Texas out for standing by this. Another topic we discussed this week is the extreme weather slamming the US and more specifically New York, with record breaking rain happening twice in less than two weeks! Not sure about everyone else but these weather patterns are really concerning.
