  • Will Steel Explains Why Authentic Leadership Starts With Being Yourself

In this episode, Samantha sits down with Will Steel, a former Royal Air Force pilot, transformational leadership coach, and author of Free to Lead. Together, they explore how our thoughts, personal expectations, and past experiences shape how we lead ourselves and others.

Will shares his remarkable journey from military aviation to leadership coaching. During RAF officer training, he discovered how trying to meet other people's expectations held him back. When he committed to being himself, he went from repeating his training to graduating with the prestigious leadership trophy. That experience became a defining lesson in authentic leadership.

But how do you actually put that lesson into practice?

Throughout the conversation, Samantha and Will explore the difference between automatic thoughts and conscious decisions. They discuss how our internal dialogue influences our confidence, communication, and ability to connect with others. You'll also learn why being fully present can improve your relationships and help you practice authentic leadership in everyday situations.

The conversation then turns to leadership in the workplace. Will explains why integrity forms the foundation of effective leadership and why financial incentives alone often fall short. He shares how giving employees a meaningful purpose can improve motivation, engagement, and performance.

They also explore the difference between leadership and management, including why holding a position of authority requires more than giving instructions. Will shares practical examples from his military and civilian careers that demonstrate how authentic leadership requires adaptability, accountability, and understanding the people around you.

Finally, Samantha opens up about the challenges of leading with empathy while maintaining firm boundaries. Together, they discuss people pleasing, the pressures women encounter in leadership roles, and how different situations call for different approaches.

Whether you're a business owner, entrepreneur, executive, manager, or someone looking to grow personally, this episode offers valuable insights into authentic leadership, personal growth, and becoming more effective in your relationships.

  • How to Reclaim Your Identity and Personal Power with Natasha Ramlall

What happens when you reach midlife and realize the life you've built no longer reflects who you are?

In this episode, we sit down with Natasha Ramlall to explore self-discovery, personal growth, and the challenges of navigating major life transitions. We discuss how inherited beliefs, emotional patterns, and societal expectations can disconnect us from our authentic selves.

Natasha shares her personal journey through chronic pain, career changes, and an unexpected midlife awakening. Along the way, she discovered how deeply our emotions, beliefs, and physical experiences can influence one another.

We also discuss the importance of setting healthy boundaries, especially when guilt and family expectations make change difficult. As women, we often learn to prioritize everyone else's needs while overlooking our own.

However, reclaiming your personal power starts with recognizing those patterns and questioning whether they still serve you.

One of the most personal parts of our conversation focuses on Natasha's experience with chronic back pain.

She explains how two different physiotherapy experiences changed her understanding of healing. While one increased her fear around physical movement, the other helped her rebuild confidence in her body's abilities.

As a result, we explore the role that emotions, attention, and beliefs can play in our experience of pain.

Whether you're navigating an empty nest, a relationship ending, or a career change, losing a familiar identity can feel unsettling.

Natasha explains why these transitions often involve three stages: accepting an ending, navigating uncertainty, and embracing a new beginning.

Rather than rushing through these experiences, she encourages deeper self-understanding, acceptance, and trust.

Finally, we explore how dance can help us move beyond overthinking and reconnect with our physical and emotional experiences.

Natasha shares how freestyle dance creates opportunities for emotional expression, self-discovery, and connection.

If you're questioning your direction, struggling with boundaries, or exploring personal growth at midlife, this conversation offers valuable perspectives.

Watch the full episode to explore how self-acceptance, emotional awareness, and personal sovereignty can change your relationship with yourself.

What belief, expectation, or old identity have you had to let go of to become more yourself? Share your experience in the comments.

  • Brandi Heather Explains How Play at Work Builds Stronger Teams

What if better performance at work didn’t require more pressure?

In this episode, we sit down with Brandi Heather to explore how **playful intelligence** can help people think, connect, and adapt more effectively at work. We discuss why creativity and curiosity often disappear as workplaces become more rigid, serious, and risk-averse.

Brandi explains how play helped shape her work in accessibility, education, leadership, and wellbeing. She also shares why **playful intelligence** goes far beyond games, team activities, or adding a ping pong table to the office.

Instead, it starts with understanding what helps people feel capable, energized, and willing to contribute their ideas.

We also explore psychological safety and why people struggle to experiment when they’re afraid of making mistakes. Brandi explains how leaders can create environments where employees feel safer taking small risks. As a result, teams can access more creativity, resilience, and connection.

The conversation also examines joy at work and nervous system regulation. We discuss why many people can quickly identify what stresses them but struggle to name what brings them joy. Brandi explains how small moments of **playful intelligence** can help people notice what restores their energy.

We also talk about leadership, management, and employee engagement. Rather than expecting managers to create happiness for everyone, Brandi explains how people can better understand what motivates them internally.

That understanding can improve communication, teamwork, and even everyday efficiency.

Later, we discuss corporate retreats and team building. Brandi explains why these experiences work best when organizations treat them as culture maintenance rather than rewards. We also explore why psychological safety must come before **playful intelligence** can truly emerge.

If you’re interested in workplace culture, employee wellbeing, leadership, creativity, resilience, or psychological safety, this conversation offers a different way to think about performance.

Ultimately, **playful intelligence** isn’t about making every part of work fun. It’s about creating enough safety and freedom for people to bring more of their abilities into the work they already do.

Watch the full conversation with Brandi Heather to learn how play, safety, joy, and human connection can shape healthier workplaces.

  • Michelle Doan Explains Sensitive Skin Care and Resilient Living

Michelle Doan joins us to discuss sensitive skin care, cystic acne, Korean skincare, entrepreneurship, resilience, and personal growth.

Michelle’s story begins far beyond the beauty industry. As a child, she escaped Vietnam with her family by boat. Afterward, they spent a year in a refugee camp before rebuilding their lives in Canada. Those experiences shaped her approach to change, hard work, and resilience.

Later, Michelle struggled with cystic acne for more than a decade. Because traditional treatments left her frustrated, she started studying skincare ingredients more closely. That process changed how she approached sensitive skin care and eventually influenced her work in beauty.

Throughout our conversation, we explore what actually matters when evaluating skincare. Michelle explains her three-part framework of potency, penetration, and proof. In addition, we discuss ingredient concentration, fermentation, fragrance, exfoliation, and the skin microbiome.

We also talk about oily skin, dehydration, hormonal changes, and menopause. Michelle explains how her own skin changed through pregnancy, aging, and menopause. As a result, sensitive skin care became an ongoing process rather than a single solution.

Meanwhile, we examine why complicated routines aren’t always better. Michelle shares why she prefers fewer products that address specific needs. We also discuss why harsh exfoliation and aggressive ingredients can create additional problems for reactive skin.

The conversation then moves into entrepreneurship. Michelle explains how she started her business with limited funding and learned through experience. She also shares why understanding your ideal customer matters when building a company.

More importantly, she explains why serving a specific need changed how she thought about selling. That lesson connects sensitive skin care with a broader approach to business built around solving real problems.

Finally, we explore Michelle’s personal mindset shift from “have to” toward “get to.” She discusses self-acceptance, receiving compliments, asking for help, and forgiving past mistakes. We also examine how repeated thoughts can influence the way we experience work, relationships, and everyday life.

If you’re researching cystic acne, oily skin, Korean skincare, menopause skincare, or sensitive skin care, this conversation offers practical perspectives to consider.

  • Nelson Whiting Explains How Clinical Hypnosis Changes Subconscious Habits

What actually happens during hypnosis, and can it change deeply rooted habits?

In this episode, we sit down with Nelson Whiting to explore how clinical hypnosis works and why subconscious patterns can shape everyday behavior. Nelson explains the differences between stage hypnosis and clinical hypnotherapy, including what happens when someone enters a trance state.

We also discuss brainwave states such as alpha, theta, beta, and delta. Nelson explains how focused attention can reduce outside distractions and increase awareness of internal thoughts. From there, we look at suggestibility, imagination, and why hypnosis doesn’t mean giving someone else control over your mind.

The conversation moves into subconscious reprogramming and unwanted habits. Nelson shares his perspective on pornography, procrastination, overeating, smoking, and other repetitive behaviors. Rather than focusing only on the behavior, he looks at the beliefs and identity patterns beneath it.

We also explore the connection between breathing, the vagus nerve, stress, and mental focus. Nelson explains why diaphragmatic breathing can support relaxation before deeper subconscious work.

Later, we discuss faith and spirituality. Nelson shares how his Christian background influenced his understanding of clinical hypnosis, prayer, meditation, and personal change.

Finally, we address common questions about hypnosis safety. Can you get stuck in hypnosis? Can hypnosis make you forget something? Can someone force you to act against your values? Nelson explains how he approaches these concerns in clinical settings.

If you’re curious about clinical hypnosis, subconscious reprogramming, habit change, brainwave states, or the psychology behind repetitive behavior, this conversation offers a detailed introduction.

Sailynn shares how she built a million-dollar company while working exhausting 80-hour weeks. Eventually, she realized that revenue alone didn’t equal success. So, she rebuilt the company around structure, systems, team support, and technology.

We break down the four pillars she believes create the foundation of a scalable business. First, you need clarity around the life and company you actually want. Next, you need systems that make repeated work easier to delegate. Then, you need the right people in clearly defined roles. Finally, you can use technology to streamline work that shouldn’t require constant human attention.

We also discuss how entrepreneurs can stop becoming the bottleneck inside their own companies. Sailynn explains why documenting a process isn’t enough. Instead, your team needs systems they can actually follow and improve.

Additionally, we explore practical hiring strategies for early-stage founders. Sailynn explains how part-time specialists helped her build expertise without immediately adding expensive full-time roles. For pre-revenue founders, however, she emphasizes one priority above everything else. You need to focus on generating revenue first.

Later, we discuss how personal brands, coaches, and service providers can create a scalable business around repeatable frameworks. Rather than attaching every result to the founder, Sailynn recommends building processes that others can eventually deliver.

We also explore AI, automation, delegation, and time audits. However, the goal isn’t adding more tools. The goal is reducing unnecessary work while protecting the activities that require your judgment.

Ultimately, a scalable business should give you more control over your time, energy, and decisions. Sailynn explains why she recommends reviewing those areas every 90 days. That habit can help you catch problems before growth creates another demanding job.

If you’re building a scalable business and want more freedom from daily operations, this conversation offers a practical framework. Watch the full episode to learn how Sailynn approaches systems, delegation, team structure, automation, and strategic leadership.

  • Anita Fordin on Expat Identity and Rebuilding Confidence While Living Abroad

In this episode, we sit down with Anita Fordin to talk about **expat identity**, culture shock, language barriers, self-doubt, and what it really takes to build a life abroad.

After moving from Phoenix to a small village in Italy, Anita expected a new adventure. Instead, she found herself facing loneliness, disconnection, and a major shift in how she saw herself. We talk about how **expat identity** can change when familiar routines, relationships, language, and surroundings disappear.

Anita explains why trying too hard to fit in can create even more distance from who you are. We also discuss the difference between fitting in and truly belonging. Along the way, we explore how slowing down, processing your emotions, and accepting discomfort can help you reconnect with yourself.

Language plays a major role in **expat identity** too. Anita shares how learning Italian affected her confidence and ability to express herself. We discuss why adults often become frustrated when they can’t communicate at the same level they can in their native language. Instead of chasing perfection, Anita explains why patience, vulnerability, and making mistakes can lead to stronger connection.

We also talk about why familiar objects, routines, and personal belongings can matter so much when you’re living or traveling abroad. Those small touchpoints can remind you who you were while you adjust to who you’re becoming.

Later, the conversation turns to self-doubt, courage, and personal growth. Anita shares why self-doubt can become familiar enough to feel safe, even when it holds you back. Understanding **expat identity** means learning how to recognize those patterns without letting them control your decisions.

Whether you’re moving overseas, living as an expat, learning a new language, or navigating a major life transition, this conversation offers practical insight into change and belonging. Ultimately, **expat identity** isn’t about becoming someone completely different. It’s about staying connected to yourself while allowing yourself to grow.
