Before joining Schools Consent Project, Kaitlin worked in Brooklyn Family Court and spent 14 years as an attorney at The Legal Aid Society in the Juvenile Rights Practice, where she represented thousands of children who were subjects of child abuse, neglect, juvenile delinquency, and custody proceedings. She is a graduate of City University of New York School of Law and Fordham University. Kaitlin spent her career having difficult conversations with children who were victims of horrific crimes, along with children who were arrested for juvenile delinquency or criminal acts. Oftentimes, children from both of those groups could not articulate what happened to them, or why it was something that led to court involvement. The Schools Consent Project aims to change that by educating young people on their rights and responsibilities to each other.
