We're doing something a little different this week. Join us as I interview Lacey about what she would do if we were starting day 1 on our current homestead. It's interesting to hear what she would have done differently and what we would have kept the same. We've definitely learned over the years and it's fun to think about how we would have applied that knowledge knowing what we know now.

We've made it to the last episode of our permaculture for the homestead series! This has been such a fun series and one of our favorite topics is permaculture.
In zone 3 and beyond we are getting into more wild nature design. We are getting into trees, perennials and things that need less maintenance and can thrive with little intervention.
We also talk about larger livestock and where they fit between all the zones.

It's time to cover zone 2 on the homestead. We've talked about permaculture zones and what needs daily attention. Zone 2 is getting a little further from the house but it's still going to be an area you'll need to visit almost daily. Certain animals and livestock can fit well into zone 2 like chickens and goats, it is also an area to think about water, drip irrigation, and how you'll get water there if you're not visiting that zone daily.
If you haven't checked out the intro, zone 0, and zone 2 of the series check those out and of course contact us with any questions!

We've run an in-person Farmer Mastermind on our property for a few years now. It's been such a wonderful experience to gather with other farmers/homesteaders and share knowledge, wins, and struggles.
We couldn't be more excited to bring the homestead mastermind online. Imagine a group of like-minded homesteaders setting goals, achieving them, and building a community that moves each other forward to their dream homesteads.
