Tomas Holgado is my special guest today! I have stopped trying to be as cool as my guests. I simply gave up. I know it will never happen, so might as well just be me. Great conversation with an even better person. Tomas is doing great things in Atlanta for musicians and the scene as a whole. He owns and operates Holgado Guitar Works and is amazing at it. The 'Stay Sexy Social' is my special guest today! This is such a great event benefiting a great cause. It's happening November 11th at Center Stage and features The Royal Turns, Cure My Enemy and The Pussywillows, all of whom are badass people. This was definitely a serious podcast in a lot of ways, but with plenty of laughs! At one point, I had to lighten things up with a Olive Garden story....that no one got! Made me feel super awkward. Great having these guys in talking about Atlanta's punk rock scene, which is surprisingly quite larger than people realize. We also hit on my love of death metal and when I met my two favorites, the damning possibilities of the internet today, the sucky technology we had as kids (which was actually a good thing) and Calculus of Multiple Variables. Wow! What a hell of a time! After damn near eight months of trying, I finally got Order of the Owl on the podcast. Our schedules just never seemed to match up and it was starting to drive me insane. I've known Casey for quite a while and had the pleasure of toasting many beers with him at concerts around Atlanta. I was DEFINITELY the least cool person in the room during this conversation, talking about how the band got started, new stuff they're working on, the current culture of making music, Atlanta's metal scene and a DEBAUCHERY-FILLED round of 20 questions.
