Well, lockdown sessions begins with a bang! The boys had Josh and Pete from Phantom Isle on the podcast, although they couldn't be on the iconic sofa, they do have the honour of the first ever virtual interview. They covered everything from how Phantom Isle came to be, moving from the Northampton scene to the London scene and much more. Pete and Josh have a wealth of stories surrounding Catfish and the Bottlemen, recording their music videos, best and worst gigs and some amazing stories of their nights out with the band!! There is even a mention of Osama Bin Laden... listen to find out how we possibly made that relevant! Well well well, the boys react here to the UK entering a second lockdown, meaning they won't be able to film the podcast in the same room for at least four weeks :( They reflect on recording the podcast during the first lockdown, and discuss what the plan is moving forward, mainly the focus on more short form videos and content. This leads to a discussion on the independent music industry, and what the second lockdown means to it. Further to this, what bands and artists can attempt to do to keep going doing these difficult times. Despite lockdown, The Lathums put on their free virtual gig recently, the lads discuss how impressive it was and how the approach was very smart and successful for the band and the fans... tunes out a virtual gig DOESN"T have to cost £7!! 

As always, the lads have a new band and single each, this week including LOLA SCOTT, DRIVE BAR YOUTH, THE REYTONS and CHEEKBONE.

Ten episodes ago, the lads recorded one of the more contentious episodes of the season.. debating which decade was better for indie music - 90s or 00s. Joe took the win by convincing Ell that 90s was the better decade for indie music. However, the debate returns, this time as they pit the 70s against the 80s and spend an hour deciding which decade was the superior era for indie. With both having some unbelievable acts to compare, it gets heated rather quickly, especially over whether David Bowie had his prime in the 70s or 80s. Although both decades are evenly matched, Elliott manages to pull out the stops with The Smiths and Stone Roses, as well as examples of how the 80s led to more variety, experimentation and growth of the indie scene. Listen to to see what the final conclusion is, and whether or not there will be a return for battle of the decades!!
