Daniel is back!

He was joined by Justin and producer Andrew in a hard-hitting discussion about youth sports in today's society. Justin shared a story about his weekend in Seaside and Daniel relived his glory days.

High school basketball playoffs are about to start and Daniel gives a rundown of when and where Montesano, Elma, Hoquiam, and Aberdeen will play. Also, we have a very special Athlete of the Week from the Aberdeen boys basketball program.

Finally, the mailbag discussion features our picks for best trophy and our top-five Mariners players of all time.

This week Justin and producer Andrew were joined by guest co-hosts Braden Dohrmann and Sam Winter.

The Montesano High School seniors helped break down the big game, the commercials, and the halftime show. They also discussed Patrick Mahomes’ place in the group of elite quarterbacks and how he stacks up against Seahawks QB Russell Wilson.

We all know that it’s always Dame time. In light of his historical statistical run, should Portland Trailblazers point guard Damian Lillard be considered for the NBA MVP award? Does Lillard get overlooked in the big discussions about the best players in the game due to East Coast bias?

Braden and Sam helped break down their Montesano boys basketball team, which locked up at least a share of the Evergreen 1A League title with a win over Tenino on Tuesday.  Coincidentally, we named Braden as our Oly Pen Real Estate Athlete of the Week!

In the mailbag, we tackled music and deodorant. Did you know there’s a difference between deodorant and antiperspirant? Justin didn’t.

This week Justin and producer Andrew were joined by guest co-host Shawn O’Neill, who helped sort out their feelings about the dirty rotten cheating Astros.

Shawn also discussed the Baseball Hall of Fame inductions. Did Jeter get robbed? Will and should the roiders ever get in?

Our trio also made predictions about the Super Bowl and discussed which team should be favored and why.  Damian Lillard is the first ever player listed at 6-foot-2 or shorter to score 60+ points multiple times. Is he overlooked in the NBA landscape?

Justin updated the local high school basketball scene, including wins for Montesano, Elma, and Aberdeen, and named Montesano’s Carter Olsen the Oly Pen Real Estate Athlete of the Week.

The mailbag segment was mostly about toast and geography, but the boys also discussed the highest paid players in major league baseball and which players may have deserved more.

Daniel, Justin, and producer Andrew recap the conference title games from the NFL weekend, a Twitter beef between Richard Sherman and Darelle Revis, and discussed how they feel when players leave their favorite teams and find success elsewhere. 

They also chatted about the Portland Trailblazers recent trade, and railed against foul calls in the NBA and the Rockets. 

Our trio wrapped up by comparing fairweather fans to bandwagon and frontrunner fans, then whether or not it's acceptable to use "we" when referring to a team you root for.

This week Daniel, Justin, and producer Andrew were joined by Montesano High School senior Braden Dohrmann.

The boys put a bow on the Seahawks season by discussing the playoff loss to the Packers, what changes should be made for next year, and their favorite Seahawk moments.

Braden talked about how the Montesano boys basketball team has done so far this season, and discussed the upcoming matchup against league-rival Forks this week.

This week Daniel, Justin, and producer Andrew discussed youth sports referees and how much it is acceptable to verbally abuse them. 

They also discussed the Aberdeen-Hoquiam co-ed doubleheader that Daniel and Justin broadcasted on Friday night, which included a double overtime thriller in the boys game.

The podcast includes audio clips from the broadcast and a few player interviews. 

Then, the Seahawks did some Seahawky things but Justin didn't watch because he loves his kids more than he loves the Seahawks. Daniel and Andrew filled him in and discussed the game.

Also, should the MVP award be revamped or is it just dumb and we should accept that?  The mailbag segment includes Tim Tebow, John Ursua, Steve Nash, Larry Bird, LeBron James, and a discussion about whether or not it is acceptable for adults to wear sports jerseys.

This  week, Justin, Daniel, and producer Andrew discussed the Portland  Trailblazers’ injury issues this season. Daniel and Andrew hate super  teams, but Justin is OK with them.

The Seahawks lost to the 49ers and lost the division crown, but we’re  OK with that. We discussed the return of Beastmode and the quality play  of a couple of rookies.

In the mailbag segment, we debated candles vs Scentsy, the fall of IPAs, and pizza eating strategies.

This week Daniel, Justin, and producer Andrew discussed the injury-riddled Seattle Seahawks' brutal loss to the lowly Arizona Cardinals and how it affects the NFC playoff picture.

Do the Hawks even want to host a playoff game, or would they be better off on the road?

They also named Elma’s Jalyn Sackrider the Oly Pen Real Estate Athlete of the Week, and mentioned another stellar performance by Raymond’s Kyra Gardner. Daniel discussed the Aberdeen-Hoquiam boys basketball game and talked about some key contributors.

In the mailbag segment, our trio talked about Australian immigrants, condiments, and the best high school gyms and experiences in the Twin Harbors.

Daniel gets stressed out by the way the Seahawks close out games when they have the lead. The Hawks did, however, pull out a win and we discussed several players who gave their offense life. 

We also asked whether the New England Patriots are good cheaters or bad cheaters, and how, if at all, Bill Bellichick’s legacy is tarnished by the scandals? 

We then named Aberdeen’s Aliyah Tageant our Oly Pen Real Estate Athlete of the Week for her 18 point, 16 rebound, 6 steal performance in the Myrtle Street rivalry win over Hoquiam last week.  During the mailbag segment, we talked about great sports moments in history, discussed the high school state football playoffs and where the title game should be played, and what gifts you should buy for the sports lover in your life.

This week Daniel and Justin interviewed Montesano High School boys head basketball coach Doug Galloway to discuss his team and their goals for this season.

They also discussed local youth sports and the impact of coaches like Galloway on the community. 

Then Justin stumped Daniel with questions about 2019 NBA stats, NFL history, and breakfast cereal. Find out if Daniel got an "A" or an "F-." 

During the mailbag segment it was revealed that Justin hates fun and thinks that nature is yucky. Also, Daniel and Justin discussed local athletes who they wish they could have covered during the show’s four-year hiatus, and Producer Andrew shared his thoughts on whether or not the NFL playoff structure needs to be restructured.
