Strengths of the Ruler Power Communication Leadership skills

Weaknesses of the Ruler Control at all costs Paranoia at plots against them

The Ruler's Motivation: Keep the peace and keep order in society by maintaining their power and getting more power.

Character archetype examples: Cersei Lannister Miranda Priestly from The Devil Wears Prada King Arthur

This is one of the most recognizable of the character types and one you’ll be familiar with. This archetype is all about stability and order. They’re the characters who are there to maintain order through control and power. They are in direct contradiction to the Outlaw, who seeks to destroy, rather than create, order.

Welcome to The Script Mistress, where we dive into the world of screenwriting. In this episode, we have an exclusive interview with Shirley Nicol, the winner of our May Challenge. I'm your host, Amber Bosworth, and I couldn't be more thrilled to share this exciting episode with you.

Shirley was among 28 talented writers who were given the task of crafting a new script based on a captivating image prompt. What made May's challenge unique was that we offered three different images, giving the writers even more options to choose from. It was fantastic to see that all five finalists were women! As the saying goes, women truly enjoy having choices. I'm overjoyed to award Shirley the crown for the May Challenge.

Her winning script, titled "Adventure for the Soul," takes us on a journey where a woman discovers that adventure comes with its fair share of obstacles. It's a captivating story that you won't want to miss.

Wasn’t that amazing! I love that we can’t let anyone tell us what we can and cannot do! Go out and do what brings you joy.

I had so much fun speaking with Ben. I decided to take a break from the Archetype series to sit down and talk with Ben. The script was so good and so inspiring.

Ben was one of over 35 writers tasked with writing a new script based on an image prompt. I found a great image showing a large wave swelling with a sunset in it’s center.

I had a blast talking with Anson. I decided to take a break from the Archetype series to sit down and talk with Anson. I loved his script so much and was overjoyed when he won. Anson has been a part of the Ink 2 Screen Challenges for a long time. He will talk more about that.

Anson was one of over 30 writers tasked with writing a new script based on an image prompt. It was March and I just couldn’t resist giving an image of a rainbow. All the writers came up with an original screenplay, but it was Anson that won it all.

Anson wrote For Dad.

Logline: The bonds of friendship can span even the farthest of distances and for some will never end.
