The Seed Podcast

Lions are one of the best animals created. They are also one of the most dangerous. Based on several stories we cover in this episode you'll find out that whether you are in a zoo or the wild… it is never good to go into a lion's territory. If a lion can take down an elephant or giraffe then it wouldn't have any problem with a podcaster.

It's amazing what God has equipped these killing machines with: claws, teeth, night vision and a hidden spike in their tale?

Throughout scripture the bible has used these amazing beasts to represent both God and the Devil at different times.

What weapons does a lion have? How do they hunt? Why would it be so easy for a lion to literally lick my face off?

David Livingstone was a Scottish physician and pioneer missionary, an explorer in Africa, and one of the most popular British heroes of the late 19th-century. He had a mythic status that operated on a number of interconnected levels: Christian missionary, scientific investigator, explorer, and anti-slavery crusader.

Livingstone's fame as an explorer and his obsession with learning the sources of the Nile River was founded on the belief that if he could solve that age-old mystery, his fame would give him the influence to end the East African Arab–Swahili slave trade.

Livingstone was found with his arm ripped to shreds while a lion was standing over his body, he witnessed a true massacre right before his eyes, he traveled with cholera and malaria and was lastly cut off from all contact from the known world. He experienced all this to bring freedom from sin and slavery to the people of Africa.

What were his successes? What were his failures?

Some people think that deathbed conversions are possible, while others are very adamant that they do not work. This is especially true when it means letting complete monsters into Heaven.

For the first half of the show we will be covering some more famous conversions on the deathbed like that of John Wayne and Buffalo Bill. We will look at the claims of two other lives given to God, Charles Darwin and Stephen Hawking.

Lastly we will cover monster and serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer and what the police officers found upon searching his apartment. Is Dahmer too evil to get into Heaven? Find out today.

This week we are jumping back into scripture to cover the life of a fan favorite… David. But we are not going to be covering his early years… not yet anyways. Nope.

We are fastforwarding to his time after he becomes King. Actually we are going to dial in on a very specific time during his rule and the choices he made that would affect the world forever. Choices that also involved the second star of the episode… A girl by the name of Bathsheba. You might have heard of her.

So we will be lightly touching on those events today as we go over a quick setup seeing what brought lil David into king status. Then we stop… and cover a story from the eyes of one of his subjects. Bathsheba herself. If you think she was just a young temptress who was trying to seduce the king so she could sleep her way into power… prepare to have your mind blown! Not only because of who she was but how important she is. Which you will find out as we focus on this young woman after her story is told.

Lastly we will answer the question: why is David considered a man after Gods own heart after being such dill hole? Stay tuned for that.

Although the fall of the massive vessel known as the Titanic is very much a tragedy. Within its story is hidden many inspirational lives. We will touch very briefly on several heroes that stood out above the crowd towards the end of the episode… but tonight's main focus is going to be on a preacher who went by the name of John Harper. First we'll dive into a hefty set-up looking at first the religious boom of the time and then we will uncover the origins of the "unsinkable ship". Yes… that was one of its nicknames. Apparently instead of christening the ship with a bottle of wine,  they christened the Titanic with a heavy dose of irony. We'll cover the details of why it was built and how.

After that we will go over a sad… but inspiring story of a preacher/father, his daughter and also his niece. And the tragic night that changed all their lives forever.

Desmond Doss joined the army during WWII which is what many brave men did at the time. The only problem with Doss doing this is that he vowed to never hold a gun in his hands. This didn't bother Doss because he once said that he didn't join the army to take lives but to save them. Although he never did carry a weapon, Doss received the Medal of Honor from President Truman due to his many brave actions in the war. What did Doss do? What did he accomplish? Many people say they can see miracles all around them. A serendipitous moment, someone is healed after being sick for a week, or maybe even weather changes. But then… then there are miracles that can go against the very laws of physics. Events that can not be explained by science. No specialist in any field can deduce what the cause of the event was or how it happened… but there is true evidence of its occurrence. There are Miracles that literally stop the world from spinning.

We will be diving into 7 such miracles today. 6 from scripture and one that happened a lot more recently. You are not going to want to miss it.

A peasant girl with little to nothing becomes the wife of a king. She is brought into a life of great luxury and riches, but soon this new Queen discovers she is instrumental in the salvation of her entire people. She becomes a hero.

This story has everything: love, deceit, drama, life threatening danger and a gag or two. However, it's what Esther accomplishes that makes this story so good and why she will be celebrated by her people for years to come. Find out what Esthers connection is to the Jewish festival known as Purim and why many refer to it as the Jewish Halloween.

Samson is one of the most famous judges of Israel. The question is why? Was it his strength, his story itself or his weakness? His kryptonite may not have been what you think.

After covering some Philistine history and digging into Samson's life, we will then be taking a close look at his true weakness. Was it his hair, his love or something else all together? The last thing we will be zeroing in on is Sammie's strength. From beating a lion with his bare hands to lifting the massive Gaza gates onto his shoulders... it's insane to think of what this guy was able to accomplish. Samson was a real life superhero.
