Lions are one of the best animals created. They are also one of the most dangerous. Based on several stories we cover in this episode you’ll find out that whether you are in a zoo or the wild… it is never good to go into a lion's territory. If a lion can take down an elephant or giraffe then it wouldn’t have any problem with a podcaster.

David Livingstone was a Scottish physician and pioneer missionary, an explorer in Africa, and one of the most popular British heroes of the late 19th-century. He had a mythic status that operated on a number of interconnected levels: Christian missionary, scientific investigator, explorer, and anti-slavery crusader.

Livingstone's fame as an explorer and his obsession with learning the sources of the Nile River was founded on the belief that if he could solve that age-old mystery, his fame would give him the influence to end the East African Arab–Swahili slave trade. 

Livingstone was found with his arm ripped to shreds while a lion was standing over his body, he witnessed a true massacre right before his eyes, he traveled with cholera and malaria and was lastly cut off from all contact from the known world. He experienced all this to bring freedom from sin and slavery to the people of Africa. 

What were his successes? What were his failures?

This week we are jumping back into scripture to cover the life of a fan favorite… David. But we are not going to be covering his early years… not yet anyways. Nope. 

We are fastforwarding to his time after he becomes King. Actually we are going to dial in on a very specific time during his rule and the choices he made that would affect the world forever. Choices that also involved the second star of the episode… A girl by the name of Bathsheba. You might have heard of her. 

So we will be lightly touching on those events today as we go over a quick setup seeing what brought lil David into king status. Then we stop… and cover a story from the eyes of one of his subjects. Bathsheba herself. If you think she was just a young temptress who was trying to seduce the king so she could sleep her way into power… prepare to have your mind blown! Not only because of who she was but how important she is. Which you will find out as we focus on this young woman after her story is told.

Lastly we will answer the question: why is David considered a man after Gods own heart after being such dill hole? Stay tuned for that.

Although the fall of the massive vessel known as the Titanic is very much a tragedy. Within its story is hidden many inspirational lives. We will touch very briefly on several heroes that stood out above the crowd towards the end of the episode… but tonight’s main focus is going to be on a preacher who went by the name of John Harper. First we’ll dive into a hefty set-up looking at first the religious boom of the time and then we will uncover the origins of the “unsinkable ship”. Yes… that was one of its nicknames. Apparently instead of christening the ship with a bottle of wine,  they christened the Titanic with a heavy dose of irony. We’ll cover the details of why it was built and how.

After that we will go over a sad… but inspiring story of a preacher/father, his daughter and also his niece. And the tragic night that changed all their lives forever.

Desmond Doss joined the army during WWII which is what many brave men did at the time. The only problem with Doss doing this is that he vowed to never hold a gun in his hands. This didn’t bother Doss because he once said that he didn’t join the army to take lives but to save them. Although he never did carry a weapon, Doss received the Medal of Honor from President Truman due to his many brave actions in the war. What did Doss do? What did he accomplish? Samson is one of the most famous judges of Israel. The question is why? Was it his strength, his story itself or his weakness? His kryptonite may not have been what you think.
