  • #6 Trust Yourself In Uncertainty

Uncertainty doesn’t politely wait until you feel rested, healthy, or ready. After months away because of recurring medical issues, I’m back on the Self-Growth Train with a format that’s simpler, more honest, and built for real life: one affirmation, then the stories, opinions, and research that help us live it.

Today’s affirmation is “I trust myself to navigate uncertainty with wisdom and grace” and I unpack why those two words matter so much. Wisdom is what we earn when we finally admit we can’t control everything. Grace is the part most of us skip, the decision to stop beating ourselves up for not getting it right on the first try, or the third, or the thousandth. When I hold both, life feels less heavy and a lot more possible.

I also share a turning-point story from 2018, when I left restaurant work for a special education paraprofessional role and got thrown into supporting students with autism while knowing almost nothing about it. I talk about what helped, what didn’t, and why the best preparation for the unknown is often education plus action plus patience with yourself. Then we connect the message to psychology and mental health research through Albert Bandura’s self-efficacy, the evidence-backed link between believing you can handle hard things and actually persisting when outcomes aren’t guaranteed.

If you’ve been feeling lonely, overwhelmed, or stuck in the middle of a hard season, come ride with me for a few minutes. Subscribe, share this with a friend who needs it, and leave a review so more passengers can find their way here.

  • #5 Redefining Self-Care Beyond Aesthetics

Is your self-care helping you recover, or just helping you perform wellness for everyone else?

If self-care looks perfect on camera but feels empty in your body, this conversation is your reset. We trade ring lights and “aesthetic” routines for grounded practices that actually expand capacity—so you can think clearer, feel steadier, and move through the week with more agency.

Along the way, we reframe self-care as maintenance, not a prize you earn after crisis. Preventative care beats crisis care, always, and even a bare-minimum checklist on hard days can make a real difference. We wrap with a journal prompt to help you personalize the shift: If I treated self-care as maintenance instead of a reward, what would I need more of right now?

Tune in for clear steps, simple language, and zero fluff. If this helped you rethink your routine, follow the show, share it with a friend who needs a nudge, and leave a quick review so more listeners can find us.

  • #4 Developing Consistency One Return at a Time

Perfection isn’t the point—returning is. We take a hard look at the myths around consistency and trade hustle noise for sustainable growth you can actually live with. Instead of glorifying unbroken streaks, we focus on how to come back after breaks, rebuild momentum with gentle steps, and treat yourself with respect while you do it.

Guided by insights from Dr. Lori Schwartz Reich’s work on “key changes,” we unpack five practical shifts that make consistency doable. You’ll leave with a clear mantra—consistency is not perfection, it is perseverance—and a journal prompt to reset your mindset after any pause: If consistency meant returning instead of never stopping, how would I treat myself after a break? If you’re ready to replace shame with momentum and grind with grace, this conversation will help you build a rhythm you can sustain.

If this resonated, follow the show, share it with someone who needs a reset, and leave a quick review to help more listeners find these tools.

  • #3 Building Momentum Without Waiting for Motivation

What if motivation isn’t something you summon—but something you design for?

Stop waiting for a mood to move you. We dig into a practical, science-aligned approach to building momentum that doesn’t collapse when motivation dips. Drawing on insights from Dr. Andrew Hubberman’s work on dopamine, we translate neuroscience into simple, repeatable levers you can use today. The aim isn’t hacks for hacks’ sake—it’s designing an environment where action feels obvious and sustainable. In fact, the core idea today is that adaptable systems and compassionate rituals outlast moods.

  • #2 From Vision to Action: Smarter Goal Planning

What if we stopped chasing perfect resolutions and started building goals that actually fit our life?

We dive into a practical, values-first approach to planning that trades pressure for purpose and turns vague wishes into steps you can repeat on your busiest days. Using the SMART framework as our backbone, we walk through each letter with a real-world example—improving cooking skills—so you can mirror the process for your own priorities.

If you’re ready to design goals that support your life instead of controlling it, this conversation will help you build a plan you can trust. Subscribe, share with a friend who needs a reset, and leave a review to tell us the one SMART goal you’re starting this week.

  • #1 Rewiring Your Mindset for Sustainable Success

What if success stopped demanding perfection and started inviting you to show up, imperfectly, every week?

That question drives a full reset of how we create, plan, and grow. We kick off 2026 with a redesigned website, a fresh green logo, and a new format that centers one clear takeaway you can carry into your day. No more rigid segments or pressure to be flawless on a schedule that punishes real life. We’re moving to a weekly rhythm with built-in wiggle room so commitment survives the chaos and creativity has space to breathe.

We dig into the mindset shift that makes momentum possible: success without self-pressure equals mindset before momentum. Drawing on Amy Morin’s Psychology Today insights, we unpack four reasons New Year’s resolutions fall apart—an all-or-nothing mentality, vague goals, external pressure, and weak support systems—and turn them into a blueprint for change that sticks.

Come along for a year built on adaptable success, practical systems, and a community that cheers your imperfect reps. If this resonates, follow the show, share it with a friend who’s rewriting their rules, and leave a review to help more people find the Self-Growth Train.

  • You Don’t Always Get What You Want, But You Get What You Need

What if the love you needed was already around you, just not in the form you expected?

As we close out the year, I share a candid, unfiltered reflection anchored by a letter I wrote to my future self—equal parts prayer, pep talk, and promise. That note set the tone for a year that didn’t deliver the romantic love I imagined, but brought something more sustaining: pure love from my students and deep, steady care from friends who showed up again and again.

If this resonates, tap follow, share it with a friend who needs a gentle reframe, and leave a review with one thing you want to hear next. Your ideas will shape the next season of growth we create together.

  • Closing the Chapter: What This Year Taught Me About Becoming

What if the next season of your growth isn’t about doing more—but about protecting what already matters?

Five years in, the train feels different: lighter, clearer, and powered by choices that protect peace as fiercely as they chase growth. I’m sharing the unpolished truth of turning thirty, scaling back from three jobs, and learning that rest isn’t optional if you want your creativity and joy to survive. The throughline is simple: honor your body, guard your energy, and let go when holding on hurts more than it helps.

If this resonates, follow the show, share it with a friend who needs a reset, and leave a review to help others find the Self-Growth Train. What shift will you make first?

  • Be Your Own Best Friend: The Art of Self-Compassion

What if the missing piece isn’t more motivation, but more mercy?

Today I open up about five years of stop-and-start creative work and get honest about what actually helps you show up again: self-compassion that is real, practical, and repeatable when life gets messy.

Expect candid stories, approachable tools, and a reminder that growth isn’t a verdict—it’s a practice. If this conversation gives you a little relief and a clearer path forward, share it with a friend who needs gentleness, subscribe for more honest self-growth, and leave a review to tell me which tool you’ll try next.
