The Sensitive Artist

Evan Galpert & Ryan Lawless are the co-founders of the Wayward Comedy group based in Santa Fe, NM. Wayward Comedy is a collective of stand-up comedians that preform every Wednesday at Chili Line Brewery.

Megan Jacobs' creative work explores delicate relationships—our existence as material and concept, the interweaving between two partners in love and the bond of parent and child. Jacobs' work has been featured in Musee Magazine, Lenscratch, Feature Shoot, and Frankie Magazine. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and has been part of exhibitions at Saatchi Gallery (online), the Museum of New Art (MONA), the Pingyao International Photography Festival, Pingyao, China, GoEun Museum of Photography, Busan, Korea, and Unitec Institute of Technology, Auckland, New Zealand. 

Jennifer Nehrbass is a painter living and working in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was born in West Bend, Wisconsin in 1970. She received her B.S. in Art and Textile Design from the University of Wisconsin, a MA in Painting from New York University, and a MFA in painting from the University of New Mexico. She spent 10 years working as a Design Director at Ralph Lauren before pursuing her art career. Her work is represented by Brunnhofer Gallery in Linz, Austria, Julie Nester Gallery in Park City, and Visions West in Denver. Her work is in in many private collections in the United States as well as Europe. Her work was added into the Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art: Feminist Art Base at the Brooklyn Museum.

Jenn Shapland is a writer living in New Mexico. Her nonfiction has been published in Tin House, Outside ​online,The Lifted Brow, Electric Literature, and elsewhere. Her essay "Finders, Keepers" won a 2017 Pushcart Prize, and she was awarded the 2019 Rabkin Foundation Award for art journalism. Her first book My Autobiography of Carson McCullers will be released February 4, 2020.

Lance Ryan McGoldrick is a multi-media artist working in a variety of nontraditional contexts. His work ranges from discrete objects to immersive environments, often created with combinations of found-objects, texture, light, and geometry. His work appears in permanent public art installations such as Meow Wolf, Art Park 21 and soon to be along the highways of New Mexico. 

Mira Burack is an artist living in the mountains of New Mexico. She creates beautiful photo collages, soft sculptures & installations using found objects from the land surrounding her home in the Ortiz Mountains.

Isadora Stowe is a multimedia artist and educator who lives in Las Cruces, NM. She creates complex visual landscapes with a variety of media such as screen printing, watercolor, spray paint, stencil, acrylic, ink and light sensitive paint. In her interview hear about how a fourth cone, synesthesia and living in the border town of Las Cruces, NM influence her artwork.

In this episode we are talking with head brewer at Blue Corn Brewery and passive solar enthusiast, Paul Mallory. Paul discusses his passion for brewing as well as building his own passive solar adobe home.

Marisa Sage is the Director and Head Curator at New Mexico State University. Marisa is currently curating an exhibition titled Labor: Motherhood and Art in 2020 (February 28 – May 28, 2020) which will be the first exhibition in the newly constructed University Art Museum.
