The remnant left in Jerusalem were attacked by the Chaldeans and the king's house was burned down and the bronze was carried away from the Lord's house.

Jerusalem was taken captive because of the sins of Manasses who worshipped false gods and profaned God's people worse than the Canaanites who were purged from the land for their wickedness. Nebachadnezzar conquered them by siege and carried away their mighty men.

King Josias read the book of the law to the people and then tore down all the high places, altars, and groves to false gods and burned the priests and the bones of the priests on the altar as the man of God had prophesied many years earlier.

Josias decreed that the breaches in the house of the Lord were to be repaired. While the work was being done the book of the law was found and read to Josias who rent his garments and wept and sent to enquire of the Lord. Utter destruction was prophesied, but after the days of Josias due to the condition of his heart.

Hezekiah died and his sons rebuilt the altars and exceeded the wickedness of the Amelakites who God purged from the land by Israel.

God decreed to Hezekiah (Ezekias) through Esaias (Isaiah), that he should put his house in order because death is upon him. Before Isaiah left the middle courtyard God sent him back to declare to Hezekiah that he had been granted 15 more years of life and as a sign the shadow on the sundial would travel back ten degrees. The king of Babylon sent messengers to Hezekiah due to his sickness and he showed them the whole kingdom and all his wealth. And as a result Isaiah prophesied Babylon would return to take it.
